Richard Steele Shalders (born 14 March 1938) is a former Australian politician who was a Liberal Party of Australia (Western Australian Division), Liberal Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly, Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1974 to 1983, representing the Electoral district of Murray-Wellington, seat of Murray. He served as a minister in the government of Ray O'Connor. Shalders was born in Perth, and attended Governor Stirling Senior High School, Midland High School before going on to Claremont Teachers College. The Western Australian Legislative Assembly, or lower house, is one of the two chambers of the Parliament of Western Australia, an Australian state. Murray-Wellington is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The seat's current member is Labor MLA Robyn Clarke. Originally known as Murray, it was one of the original 30 seats contested at the 1890 election. The district is a regional electorate situated between Mandurah and Bunbury. Robert Gerald Pike (17 December 1933 – 26 April 1994) was an Australian politician. He was born at Collie to master butcher John Francis Pike and Ruby Doris Kathleen Wood. June Craig
Margaret June Craig AM (née Lynn; born 8 December 1930) is a former Australian politician who was a Liberal Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1974 to 1983, representing the seat of Wellington. She was a minister in the governments of Sir Charles Court and Ray O'Connor, and was only the second woman in Western Australia to serve as a government minister (after Dame Florence Cardell-Oliver). Early life Craig was born in Perth, and went to Presbyterian Ladies' College in Peppermint Grove. An excellent sportswoman, she represented Western Australia at tennis, and later studied physical education at the University of Western Australia and the University of Melbourne. John Bell Read (born 10 June 1939) is a former Australian politician who was a Labor Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1983 to 1989, representing the seat of Mandurah. He later served as the Administrator of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands (an Australian external territory) from 1992 to 1994. Read was born in Boulder, Western Australia, to Alma (née Clifford) and George Henry Read. Mandurah is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The district is based on the coastal satellite city of Mandurah to the south of Perth. The seat has switched between the major parties on a couple of occasions, but has recently become stronger for the Labor Party. Geography The district is a compact coastal electorate lying just to the south of the Metropolitan Region Scheme and north of the Peel Inlet.
