Richard Scott (artist)
Richard Scott (born 14 December 1968, Middlesbrough, England) is a South African artist, residing in Cape Town and well known for the phrase Naive meets Pop art to describe his unique take on Art. He is very well known for his art both in South Africa and internationally. Richard matriculated in 1986 from Norkem Part High School in Kempton Park, Gauteng. Although he attended art classes throughout his high school term, he did not pursue, what would become his profession, until 13 years passed. Only in 2001 did Richard make the decision to become a full-time artist. Before pursuing a career as a full-time artist, Richard Scott worked as a technical illustrator and IT specialist. In 2004 he got involved with Mark Atwood, at the Lithography Artist Press in Mpumalanga, South Africa. In 2008 Richard studied silk screening with Keip Silk Screening in Johannesburg. Richard Lynn Scott ( Myers, born December 1, 1952) is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Florida since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he was the 45th governor of Florida from 2011 to 2019. Scott is a graduate of the University of Missouri–Kansas City and the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. In 1987, after serving in the United States Navy and becoming a law firm partner, he co-founded Columbia Hospital Corporation. Sir Richard William Scott, (February 24, 1825 – April 23, 1913) was a Canadian politician and cabinet minister. Early life He was born in Prescott, Ontario, in 1825, a descendant of a family from County Clare. A lawyer by training, Scott was admitted to the bar in 1848 and established a practice in Bytown (now Ottawa). Political career Scott became a member of municipal council in 1851, was mayor of Bytown in 1852, and held a seat in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada from 1857 to 1863. With Canadian Confederation, Scott won a seat in the Ontario legislature as a Liberal representing Ottawa from 1867 to 1871. He was Speaker of the legislature briefly in December 1871 before he was appointed to the provincial cabinet as Commissioner of Crown Lands. Richard Gilbert Scott (12 December 1923 – 1 July 2017) was a British architect, born in London, the son of Giles Gilbert Scott and great-grandson of the great Gothic Revival architect George Gilbert Scott. He was educated at Harrow, Charterhouse School, Bartlett School of Architecture London University, and Regent Street Polytechnic School of Architecture. Scott was the designer of three churches which have been given the status of Grade II listed buildings: St Mark's Church, Biggin Hill, the Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Tile Cross, Birmingham and the Church of St Thomas More, Sheldon, also in Birmingham. Scott worked for the family firm, retiring in 1999. Amongst other works he was responsible for the West Wing of the Guildhall, London (1974) and the Guildhall Art Gallery 1999. Richard Farquhar Scott (16 May 1914 – 11 November 2011) was an English journalist, great-grandson of the founder of ''The Manchester Guardian'' newspaper (later simplified by him to ''The Guardian''), and Chairman of the Scott Trust, its owner. Early life By the time of Richard's birth, his grandfather Charles Prestwich Scott had already been editor of ''The Manchester Guardian'' for 43 years. In 1929, C. P. Scott handed over the editorship to his son, Richard's father, Edward. Just three years later, and only months after inheriting half of the newspaper on Charles's death, tragedy struck when Edward was drowned while boating with Richard on Windermere. Richard John Scott (born 2 November 1963) is an English cricket coach and retired first-class cricketer. He was born at Bournemouth (then in Hampshire, now Dorset). He represented Dorset, Hampshire and Gloucestershire before coaching Dorset and Middlesex (2009–2018). Biography Scott was a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. He started his playing career at Dorset, playing for them in the Minor Counties Championship. In 1983 he made his List-A for the county against Essex. At the end of the 1985 Minor Counties season Scott left Dorset to join Hampshire. Scott made his one-day debut in the 1986 County Championship for the club. Over the next two seasons he was used for one-day cricket, but in 1988 he made his first-class debut against Oxford University.
