Richard S. Hartunian
Richard S. Hartunian (born January 13, 1961) is an American attorney who served as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York from 2010 to 2017. Resignation Hartunian submitted his resignation when it was requested on March 10, 2017, but the resignation was declined so that he could continue serving in office until June 2017 and thereby complete 20 years of service with the Justice Department. He was, along with Deirdre M. Daly Deirdre M. Daly (born June 17, 1959) is an American attorney who served as the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut from 2013 to 2017. The United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York is the chief federal law enforcement officer in 32 counties in the northern part of the State of New York. The current U.S. Attorney is Carla B. Freedman who was named on October 8, 2021. The United States District Court for the Northern District of New York has jurisdiction over all cases prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney.
