Richard Murray (businessman)
Richard Alan Murray is an English businessman. He was the chairman of Charlton Athletic F.C., Charlton Athletic on several occasions since the 1990s up until November 2019. Murray founded Avesco plc, the specialist services provider to the entertainment & sports industry in 1984, and was Chairman/owner of it for over 30 years. In 1988 he received, on behalf of the company, the Emmy Award for services to the television industry. A subsidiary of Avesco, which grew into a major giant-screen display company, was hired for the London, Beijing, and Rio Olympics Opening & Closing ceremonies. It also covered music festivals. The company grew to 700 employees world-wide and in late 2016, was sold to NEP, the global television broadcast provider. The Valley (London)
The Valley is a 27,111 capacity sports stadium in Charlton, London, England and has been the home of Charlton Athletic F.C., Charlton Athletic Football Club since the 1920s, with a period of exile between 1985 and 1992. It is served by Charlton railway station, which is less than a five-minute walk away from the stadium. An alternative route is the Jubilee line; exiting at North Greenwich, and changing for route 161, 472 and 486 buses, which stop outside the stadium. Llewellyn Charles "Alan" Curbishley (born 8 November 1957) is an English former football player and manager. He played as a midfielder for West Ham United, Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Charlton Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion and has worked in the Premier League in management roles at Charlton Athletic and West Ham United. In December 2013 he was appointed technical director at Fulham only to be removed from the role in February 2014. He again joined Fulham's coaching staff in March 2015.
