Richard Morris (born 1 January 1879) was a Welsh Association football, footballer who played as an inside forward. He made 87 appearances in the Football League for Liverpool F.C., Liverpool, Leeds City F.C., Leeds City and Grimsby Town F.C., Grimsby Town. He also played in the Southern Football League, Southern League for Plymouth Argyle F.C., Plymouth Argyle and Reading F.C., Reading. He was Cap (sport), capped eleven times by the Wales national football team, Wales national team, scoring one goal. Morris served the British Army as a soldier during the Second Boer War. Early life Morris was born in Newtown, Montgomeryshire, Newtown. He joined the British Army when he was a teenager and saw active service in the Second Boer War, which took place between 1899 and 1902.
