Richard Janion Nevill
Richard Janion Nevill (22 November 1785-14 January 1856) was an English industrialist in Llanelli and its surrounding areas, including Llangennech. Biography Nevill was born at Summer Hill, Birmingham, the first child of the Birmingham industrialist Charles Nevill. Charles moved to Llanelli to develop its coalfields. He partnered with other businessmen to form ''Daniell, Savill, Guest, and Nevill, coppersmelters.'' Richard took over his father's business upon his death in 1813. Nevill lived at Llangennech Park, which he leased from Edward Rose Tunno. During his residence there, Nevill became a Magistrate (England and Wales), magistrate and High Sheriff of Carmarthenshire. He was supportive of the Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party. Nevill contributed greatly to the local community, providing aid to build the British School at Llangennech in addition to a school for his workmen's children. Llanelli
Llanelli (" St Elli's Parish"; ) is a market town and the largest community in Carmarthenshire and the preserved county of Dyfed, Wales. It is located on the Loughor estuary north-west of Swansea and south-east of the county town, Carmarthen. The town had a population of 25,168 in 2011, estimated in 2019 at 26,225. The local authority was Llanelli Borough Council when the county of Dyfed existed, but it has been under Carmarthenshire County Council since 1996. Name Spelling The anglicised spelling “Llanelly” was used until 1966, when it was changed to Llanelli after a local public campaign. It is governed by Llangennech Community Council and Carmarthenshire County Council. Llangennech is also the name of the county electoral ward coterminous with the village. Llangennech was a coal mining community, with several local collieries mining steam coal. There is also a large Labour tradition in the village originating with the mine workers. There was a large Royal Navy depot in the village, which was closed in 2007 in Ministry of Defence restructuring. Edward Rose Tunno
Edward Rose Tunno (1794–1863) was a Member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom for Bossiney, Cornwall, 1826–1832. He had homes at Llangennech, near Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales; Boverton Castle, Llantwit Major, Glamorganshire, Wales; and 19 Upper Brook Street, London, England. In 1825 he married Caroline Raikes, but they had no children. His father was John Tunno (1746–1819), a Scottish-born merchant and slave trader who had made a fortune in Charleston, South Carolina and, after the American Revolution, another in London as a member of Lloyd's of London and a friend of Sir Thomas Baring. His mother was Margaret Rose of Charleston, who married John Tunno in 1781. She was the daughter of John Rose, another Scot descended from the Roses of Clava, in Nairnshire, who had 42,000 acres of rice plantations in South Carolina and interests in Jamaica. Magistrate (England And Wales)

Charles William Nevill
Charles William Nevill (7 May 1815 – 7 June 1888) was a Welsh owner of a copper smelting company in Llanelli, and a Conservative Party politician. He was elected at the 1874 general election as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Carmarthen Boroughs, but resigned from Parliament two years later, accepting the Stewardship of the Chiltern Hundreds in 1876. Family life Charles William Nevill's grandfather was Charles Nevill (1753–1813) who founded a copper smelters in Llanelli which was passed to his son Richard Janion Nevill (1785–1856). Nevill was born in Llanelli in a house near the copperworks and was educated at Llanelli Boys' Grammar School and Rugby School. He took over the family business on his father's death.
