Richard Hayward (sculptor)
Richard Hayward (1725–1800) was an 18th-century British sculptor. He has several works in Westminster Abbey. Life He was born at Weston-in-Arden in Bulkington. He was christened on 13 May 1725 the son of Richard and Mary Hayward. He was apprenticed to Christopher Horsnaile the Younger in London from 1740 and lived in his house in Holborn, London. He moved to the studio of Henry Cheere in 1742 and served a 7-year apprenticeship with him. However, he seems to have still lived with the Horsnailes and is thought to have married one of the daughters as he is said to be related by marriage. He was made a Freeman of the Company of Master Masons in 1749. His interest in sculpture seems to have been wholly artistic as he seemed a gentleman of independent means, in no need of a trade. Until 1749 he lived in Weston Hall on the Arden estate in Bulkington, he then rented the hall to his old master Christopher Horsnaile while he travelled Europe on a Grand Tour. Richard Hayward (1892–1964) was a British film actor, writer and musician. Life and career Born in Southport, Lancashire, his family moved to Ireland when he was a baby. Hayward was an enthusiast for all Ulster regional popular culture. He was a member of the Orange Order, to which he dedicated much time. After a period working at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin he helped form the Belfast Repertory Theatre Company. He was a popular singer in the forties and fifties. His career meant he lived a typical theatrical lifestyle being constantly on the move. Hayward wrote a number of travel books about Ireland, exploring every county. Richard Edward Hayward (born 1954) is a former English first-class cricketer. Hayward was a left-handed batsman who bowled left-arm medium pace. Early career born 15 February 1954 at Ickenham, Middlesex, Hayward made his debut in county cricket for Buckinghamshire in the 1978 Minor Counties Championship against Hertfordshire. Hayward played ten Minor Counties matches for Buckinghamshire in the 1978 season. Hayward continued to represent Buckinghamshire in to the 1979 Minor Counties Championship. During the 1979 season Hayward made his first-class debut for a Minor Counties side against the touring Indians. Richard John Hayward, FBA (born 1937), often known as Dick Hayward, is a linguist and retired academic. He is emeritus professor of Ethiopian linguistic studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies. Career Born in 1937, Hayward attended the University of London, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1958 and completing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1976. Richard Arthur Hayward (born November 28, 1947), also known as Skip Hayward, was the tribal chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe from 1975 until November 1, 1998. He was replaced by Kenneth M. Reels. Before becoming the tribal chairman, he worked as a pipefitter at General Dynamics Electric Boat and lived in Stonington, Connecticut. In 1994, the University of Connecticut awarded him an honorary degree. Early life and education Hayward was born on November 28, 1947, in New London, Connecticut, one of 10 children. Richard "Richie" Hayward (February 6, 1946 – August 12, 2010) was an American drummer best known as a founding member and drummer in the band Little Feat. He performed with several bands and worked as a session player. Hayward also joined with friends in some small acting roles on television, which included an episode of ''F Troop''. Career Hayward first appeared to the public as a member of a band based in Southern California. Before he joined Little Feat he was a member of the groups The Fraternity of Man, and then The Factory, which was where he met the frontman of the band, Lowell George.
