Richard Hall (born 25 October 1971) Jamaican former professional boxer who competed from 1993 to 2013. He held the interim WBA light heavyweight title, and challenged for world titles three times. Richard Edward Hall (September 17, 1907 – August 19, 1977) was a theatre owner and provincial politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1955 to 1959 sitting with the Liberal caucus in opposition. Political career Hall ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature as a Liberal candidate in the electoral district of Athabasca in the 1955 Alberta general election. He defeated incumbent Antonio Alosio with second choice preferences by almost 50 votes to pick up the seat for his party. Hall placed second out of three candidates by four votes on the first count but came back to win the election. Hall ran for a second term in office in the 1959 Alberta general election. Richard Seymour Hall (22 July 1925 – 14 November 1997) was a British journalist and historian, writing primarily about Africa. He was born in Margate, and spent several years of his childhood in Australia. On returning to the UK with his mother after his parents separated he attended Hastings Grammar School. After a short period working as a junior reporter on local newspapers he enlisted and served as a signaler in the Royal Navy. After WW2 he obtained a place at Oxford University and received an honours degree from Keble College, Oxford. During this time he married Barbara Hall. Richard Hall (18 April 1860 – 23 June 1942) was a Finnish-born painter who made his career in France, United States and Argentina. Hall is best known of his portraits, but also painted other genres such as still life paintings, in particular, flower motifs, intimate and homely sceneries, and landscape. Life Early years Richard Hall was born in Pori, Finland, as a son of the British businessman William R. Hall Tredennick and the Swiss Alexandrine Cornetz. His grandfather John Hall had emigrated to Finland in the early 1800s. The family also lived in Helsinki before moving to London in 1867. At the age of 15, Hall moved to Stockholm with his family and entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 1881. Richard Andrew Hall (17 May 1949 – 13 September 2011) was an English archaeologist who specialized in Viking activity in the British Isles. Early life and education Richard Andrew Hall was born in Ilford on 17 May 1949. He moved to Belfast at a young age, where he was educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution. Hall received his first degree in archaeology from Queen's University Belfast in 1971 with a dissertation on Viking activity in Ireland. His dissertation was supervised by Peter Addyman. In the 1985 he received a PhD from the University of Southampton with a dissertation on towns of the English Danelaw. Career Hall joined the York Archaeological Trust in 1974 as excavations supervisor. He would eventually hold the position of director of archaeology and deputy director of the trust. Richard Brathwaite Hope Hall ICD (5 June 1924 – 17 November 2007) was a British-born merchant banker, businessman, and politician active in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) during the 1960s and 70s. A member of Prime Minister Ian Smith's UDI cabinet, he served as a member of parliament in Rhodesia's House of Assembly from 1965 to 1976. He began his political career as a member of the Dominion Party, and served as its chairman from 1960 to 1962. In 1962, he was a founding member of the Rhodesian Front, but switched to the Rhodesian Action Party in 1976. After unsuccessfully running for re-election in 1977, he moved back to the United Kingdom, where he lived until his death.
