Richard J. Gilbert is an American Economist, professor at UC Berkeley from 1976 to 2000, and founder of LECG Corp. ( Law and Economics Consulting Group). Richard ('Rich') Gilbert served as Deputy Assistant General in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in the White House from 1993 to 1995, and author of Innovation Matters: Competition Policy for the Knowledge Economy, published by M.I.T. Press. While serving for the United States Justice Department, Richard Gilbert led the development of Joint Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission Antitrust Guidelines for the Licensing of Intellectual Property. Currently Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of California at Berkeley, Richard Gilbert was president of the Industrial Organization Society at University of California, Berkeley during his tenure and from 2002 to 2005 the Chair of the Economics department there. Richard Gilbert (1794–1852) was an English printer and compiler of reference works. Life He was born in St. John's Square, Clerkenwell, London, the son Robert Gilbert, died 10 January 1815 aged 51, was a printer and partner in the firm of Law & Gilbert of St. John's Square. He started life as an accountant of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge in Bartlett's Buildings. On the death of his father, he joined his brother Robert, who died in 1818, as a printer at St. John's Square. Gilbert's business expanded as a result of his marriage in 1823. On the death of his brother-in-law George Byrom Whittaker, on 13 December 1847, the family acquired a fortune, and his only son, Robert Gilbert, succeeded to his uncle's share in the business as a wholesale bookseller and publisher. Richard George Gilbert (born 19 June 1980) is an English cricketer. Gilbert is a right-handed batsman who bowls left-arm medium-fast. He was born in Scarborough, Yorkshire. Gilbert played his only first-class match for Durham UCCE in 2001 against Durham. In this match, he was dismissed for a duck by Danny Law in his only batting innings. With the ball, he bowled 18 wicket-less overs. Gilbert made his debut for Oxfordshire in the 2009 MCCA Knockout Trophy against Bedfordshire.
