Richard Finch (golfer)
Richard Finch (born 9 July 1977) is an English professional golfer. Finch is currently a member of the European Tour. He has been a member since 2005. Finch earned his card through Qualifying School in 2004. In his rookie season, he finished 60th on the Order of Merit, but missed out on the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year award, which went to Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño of Spain. His best finish in 2005 was as joint runner-up in the Telecom Italia Open. Finch picked up his first professional win at the 2007 Michael Hill New Zealand Open. Finch shot a 14 under par total of 274 (73-65-64-72) to win the tournament. One further victory during the 2008 European Tour season took Finch to his best finish of 20th on the Order of Merit. English Amateur
The English Amateur is the national amateur match play golf championship of England. It has been played annually since 1925 (except for war years) and is organised by England Golf. The English Men's Amateur Championship is contested through two phases. It begins with a 36 hole stroke play competition, with the leading 64 competitors progressing to the knock-out match play competition. Since there are exactly 64 places available in the knock-out stage, countback over the championship course, then back 9, back 6, back 3 and back 1 hole determine tie resolution. All matches in the knock-out phase are played over 18 holes except the final, which is played over 36 holes. The equivalent stroke play championship is the Brabazon Trophy. European Amateur Team Championship
The European Amateur Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for men organised by the European Golf Association which was introduced in 1959. The championship was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format 1959–1965 Each team consisted of a minimum of six players, playing two rounds of stroke play, counting the four best scores for each team. The four best teams formed flight A, were the winner was determined by a round-robin system. WGC-HSBC Champions
The WGC-HSBC Champions was a professional golf tournament, held annually in China. Inaugurated in 2005, the first seven editions were played at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, then moved to the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen for a single year in 2012. It returned to Sheshan Golf Club in 2013. Since 2009, it was a World Golf Championship event. The WGC Invitational was a professional golf tournament that was held in the United States. Established in 1999 as a successor to the World Series of Golf, it was one of three or four annual World Golf Championships (WGC) until 2021, when the number of WGC events was reduced to two. Under sponsorship agreements, the WGC Invitational was titled as the WGC-NEC Invitational (1999–2005) and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (2006–2018). During this time, it was hosted at Firestone Country Club in Ohio, except for 2002 when it was hosted at Sahalee Country Club in Washington. The WGC Match Play, currently titled as the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play for sponsorship reasons, is a professional men's golf tournament that has been held since 1999. It is the only one of the World Golf Championships to have been contested using the match play format. Since 2016, it has been held at the Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas, United States. The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. The PGA Tour of Australasia, currently known for sponsorship reasons as the ISPS Handa PGA Tour of Australasia, is a professional golf tour for men, owned and operated by the PGA of Australia. Felipe Andrés Aguilar Schuller (born November 7, 1974) is a Chilean professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Career In 2006 he became the second Chilean, after Roy Mackenzie to earn full membership to the European Tour but failed to retain full playing rights at the end of the season. In 2007 he won two events on the Challenge Tour in a 4-week span. Due to his success on the Challenge Tour he rejoined the European Tour in 2008. The Irish Open (currently known as the Horizon Irish Open for sponsorship reasons) () is a professional golf tournament on the European Tour. The Irish Open was first played in 1927 and was played annually, except for the war years, until 1950. There was a tournament in 1953, but the event was then not played again until revived in 1975. It has been contested annually since then. Paul Sheehan (born 26 January 1977) is an Australian professional golfer. Sheehan plays mainly on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the Japan Golf Tour. He has featured in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking. He has three wins in Japan, including the 2006 Japan Open Golf Championship, Japan Open, and one win in Australia. He has also played on the PGA Tour. He lives in Melbourne and plays at the Victoria Golf Club as a member.
