Richard Dawson (19 January 1960 – 9 August 2020) was an English former professional footballer who made his professional debut representing Rotherham United in 1978. Playing career Dawson began his playing career at Rotherham United. After making twenty-one league starts and a further three as a substitute and netting three times he was poached by local rivals Doncaster Rovers in February 1981 to help with their 1980-81 promotion push. He made his debut in a home win against Hereford United with Doncaster Rovers winning three goals to one. In his first season with Doncaster Rovers they won promotion from Division Four, with Dawson finding the back of the net six times before the end of the season. During the 1981–1982 season he was Doncaster Rovers' top scorer with eight in all competitions. Chesterfield is a market town and unparished area in the Borough of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, north of Derby and south of Sheffield at the confluence of the River Rother and River Hipper. In 2011 the built-up-area subdivision had a population of 88,483, making it the second-largest settlement in Derbyshire, after Derby. The wider borough had a population of 103,801 in 2011. Hereford () is a cathedral city, civil parish and the county town of Herefordshire, England. Keith Edwards (born 16 July 1957) is an English retired footballer. Edwards started his early career as a youth player with Leyton Orient in London, as his father was an Orient supporter. He became homesick and joined Sheffield United. A prolific goalscorer, he had two spells (1975–1978 and 1981–1986) at Sheffield United for whom he scored 171 goals in 293 appearances. Whilst with the Blades, he was the highest scoring player in a division twice, scoring 36 goals (one for Hull City) in Division 4 in 1981–82 and 33 goals in Division 3 in 1983–84. The latter haul earned Edwards his second Adidas Golden Boot award. His debut for United came in a FA Cup Third Round Tie against Leicester City on 3 January 1976 and his League debut came on 28 February 1976 in a Division 1 game against Queens Park Rangers. Joseph Bolton (born 2 February 1955) is an English former footballer who played primarily as a left back. Born in Birtley in Tyne and Wear he started his career at nearby Sunderland as a trainee and spent nine years at the club before moving to Middlesbrough and then Sheffield United, following which he was forced to retire through injury. Playing career Sunderland Having joined the club as a trainee Bolton made his debut for Sunderland on 17 April 1972 against Watford in a 5–0 win at Roker Park. He soon established himself in the first team and remained a stalwart of the side for the next nine seasons.
