Richard A.F. Clark is a dermatologist and biomedical engineer currently at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York. Clark co-edited, with Peter M. Henson, of ''The Molecular and Cellular Biology of Wound Repair'' (Plenum Press, 1988) and is a contributor to wound repair, dermatology, and angiogenesis research. In addition, he is also a member of the board of directors of the Society for Investigative Dermatology. Richard Auldon Clark is an American conductor specializing in music by contemporary composers. He is Conductor and music director of both the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, which he founded in 1987, and the Butler Symphony Orchestra. He has premiered over 100 works and recorded over 40 CDs. His repertoire is of little known older works and new music by such composers as Randall Thompson, Victor Herbert, Michael Schelle, Henry Cowell, Alan Hovhaness, Lukas Foss, David Amram, Dave Soldier, Miho Sasaki and Osvaldo Lacerda. Richard Clark (1780–1856) was an English musician and writer. Life Clark was born at Datchet on 5 April 1780; his mother Elizabeth (b. abt 1753) was a daughter of John Sale the elder (b. 1724 Gainsborough, according to his Grave Stone at St Georges Chapel, Windsor) a lay clerk of St. George's Chapel, Windsor, where Clark was admitted at an early age as chorister, under Theodore Aylward. He also sang at Eton College, under Stephen Heather. In 1802, on the death of his grandfather, Clark succeeded him as lay clerk at St. George's Chapel and Eton College, holding both appointments to 1811. In 1805 he was appointed secretary of the Glee Club, and about the same period occasionally acted as deputy at the Chapel Royal for James Bartleman; at St. Paul's Cathedral for his uncle John Sale; and at Westminster for his cousin, John Bernard Sale.
