Richard Bradley (archaeologist)
Richard John Bradley, (born 18 November 1946) is a British archaeologist and academic. He specialises in the study of European prehistory, and in particular Prehistoric Britain. From 1987 to 2013, he was Professor of Archaeology at the University of Reading; he is now Emeritus Professor. He is also the author of a number of books on the subject of archaeology and prehistory. ''British Archaeology'' magazine commented that Bradley was one of the best respected archaeologists in the field. Early life and education Bradley was born on 18 November 1946 in Hampshire, England. His father was a metallurgist in the British Navy. He was educated at Portsmouth Grammar School, then an all-boys direct grant grammar school in Portsmouth. Richard Bradley FRS (1688 – 5 November 1732) was an English naturalist specialising in botany. He published important works on ecology, horticulture, and natural history. Biography Little is known about Bradley's childhood aside from an early interest in gardening and the fact that he lived in the vicinity of London, a city at the time with many amateur naturalists. Though Bradley lacked a university education, his first publication, ''Treatise of Succulent Plants'', gained him traction with influential patrons like James Petiver and later, Hans Sloane. With their support, he was proposed and elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1712, at the age of 24. In 1714, Bradley visited the Netherlands and took an interest in horticulture. He spent the next decade back in England writing treatises on topics related to this central interest, like weather, fertiliser, productivity, and plant hybridisation. Richard Bradley (born 1949) is an Australian film producer and publicist working through his company Richard Bradley Productions which was established in 1981. Early life Richard Bradley grew up in North Sydney. After leaving school in 1964 he joined the Sydney Morning Herald as a copyboy and then moved onto Shipping Newspapers where he completed his apprenticeship as a compositor in 1970. Richard T. Bradley was a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1997 to 2009. Political career Bradley was appointed to the Illinois House of Representatives in April 1997 to represent the 20th district after the resignation of Joseph Kotlarz. He was re-elected in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006. In 2008, Deb Mell, daughter of Ald. Richard Mell and sister-in-law of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, announced that she was running for the 40th District seat. Richard Bradley (born Richard Blow; 1964) is an American writer and journalist. Life and career Bradley graduated from Yale University in 1986, and began working at ''The New Republic'' in Washington, D.C., followed by ''Regardie's'' magazine. Bradley returned to ''Regardie's'' in 1992 as editor-in-chief and became one of the original editors of ''George'' magazine in 1995. He was the executive editor of "George" at the time of John F.
