Richard Berry (musician)
Richard Berry, Jr. (April 11, 1935 – January 23, 1997) was an American singer, songwriter and musician, who performed with many Los Angeles doo-wop and close harmony groups in the 1950s, including The Flairs and The Robins. He is best known as the composer and original performer of the rock standard "Louie Louie". The song became a hit for The Kingsmen and others, and it is one of the most recorded songs of all time; however, Berry received little financial benefit for writing it until the 1980s, having signed away his rights to the song in 1959. In the same year, he wrote and released "Have Love, Will Travel", which has been recorded by many other artists. Early life Berry was born in Extension, south of Monroe, Louisiana, and moved with his family to Los Angeles as a baby. As a child, he suffered a hip injury and had to walk on crutches until he was six.

Rick Berry (born June 2, 1953) is a contemporary American expressionistic figure artist based in the Boston area. Berry creates art for galleries, illustration, and paintings for theatrical performances. Berry's work has appeared in many science fiction, fantasy and comic books, including Neil Gaiman's Sandman, Magic: The Gathering cards, and Stephen King novels. In 1985, Berry created the first digitally painted book cover worldwide for William Gibson's ''Neuromancer''. Berry has also written under the names Sam Rakeland, R.R. Richard Nixon Berry (May 3, 1873 – September 17, 1956) was a Canadian dentist and political figure in Ontario. He represented Haldimand in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1923 to 1926 and from 1929 to 1934 as a Conservative member. He was born in Seneca township, the son of Nixon Berry and Eliza Jane Hassard. Berry was educated in Caledonia and at the Royal College of Dental Surgeons. In 1904, he married Harriette Esther Hind. Richard M. Berry is a British-Canadian chemist who specializes in the production of nanocellulose. He is Vice-President, Technology & Chief Technology Officer at the CelluForce company in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is a member of the Board of Directors (2016-2018) for TAPPI where he has been a fellow since 2005. Berry has published more than 100 articles and holds 24 patents. Richard Berry (25 March 1824 – 20 January 1908) was an English ship's captain who became a City Missionary in Adelaide, South Australia. History Captain Berry was born at the seaport of Ilfracombe, in Devonshire, and early resolved on the life of a sailor. He went to sea with an uncle for a couple of voyages, and amongst his companions on board ship he was known as the boy who did not drink. He was a determined teetotaler and fervent religious adherent. He married when a comparatively young man, and subsequently accepted the position of missionary on the east coast of Scotland for the Scottish Coast Mission Committee. Whilst in that position he met Captain George Johnston, who was visiting Scotland for the purpose of obtaining a steamboat for the River Murray trade. Johnston had secured the boat and the crew, and offered the captaincy to Berry. Richard Gomer Berry, 3rd Viscount Kemsley (born 17 April 1951), is a British peer. Biography Berry was born on 17 April 1951, the only son of Major Hon. Denis Gomer Berry and his second wife, Pamela Wellesley. Berry's paternal grandfather was Gomer Berry, 1st Viscount Kemsley. His maternal grandfather was Captain Lord Richard Wellesley, second son of Arthur Wellesley, 4th Duke of Wellington. Berry was educated at Eton College. Richard E. Berry (born November 4, 1978) is a Canadian former ice hockey defenceman who played in the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals. Berry now lives in Colorado and is a financial consultant. Playing career Berry was drafted 55th overall in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche. He played the majority of his first three pro seasons in the American Hockey League with the Hershey Bears. In his first full season with Colorado, he played 57 games before he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 19, 2002 with Ville Nieminen for Darius Kasparaitis. Richard James Arthur Berry FRSE FRCSE (1867–1962) was a British-born surgeon and anatomist who was well-known in Australia. He was author of several internationally recognised books in his field. Early life Berry was born on 30 May 1867, in Upholland in Lancashire, the son of Jane Barlow and James Berry, a coal-merchant. His father died before he was born, and he was largely raised by his grandfather. He was educated at small private schools in Southport, beginning at Dame’s School and then in 1877 going onto a private school for boys before winning a place at the University of Cambridge. However, he did not take up his place at the university, instead taking an apprenticeship with a firm of shipbrokers in Liverpool.
