Riccardo Fainardi
Riccardo Fainardi (1865–1959) was an Italian painter, sculptor and interior designer, noted for his contributions to buildings. He was born in Collecchio, Parma and died in Gaiano, Parma. Notable works include the Chiesa di Fornovo Taro in Fornovo di Taro, Parma in 1882 and the Chiesa di Sant'Andrea of Capri Capri ( , ; ; ) is an island located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrento Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples in the Campania region of Italy. Collecchio
Collecchio (Parmigiano: ) is a town in the province of Parma, Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy. It is located by road southwest of the centre of Parma. A major food-producing area, it is home to multinational Italian dairy and food corporation Parmalat and the Parma F.C. training complex, Centro Sportivo di Collecchio, and is connected by railway. Fornovo Di Taro
Fornovo di Taro ( egl, label=Parmigiano, Fornóv) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the province of Parma, in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about west of Bologna and about southwest of Parma. The town lies on the east bank of the Taro River. Fornovo di Taro borders the following municipalities: Collecchio, Medesano, Sala Baganza, Solignano, Terenzo, Varano de' Melegari. The Via Solferino bridge connects it to Ramiola on the other side of the river. It is especially remembered as the seat of the Battle of Fornovo, fought in 1495 between the Italian league and the French troops of Charles VIII. Sant'Andrea, Capri
Chiesa di Sant'Andrea is a church in the island of Capri, Italy, near the Marina Piccola in the south. It was built in 1900 for the local fishermen. The site which the church lies on formerly contained a watch tower which was used as a lookout post for invading Saracen pirates. The church was designed by the painter Riccardo Fainardi, and funded by German banker Hugo Andreae and his wife, Emma. Capri.net says of the interior, "The pronaos of the Church is supported by two columns. The central apse stands in the very same position once occupied by the old watchtower. The central altar is embellished by a triptych representing the crucifixion of Saint Andrew. In one of the lateral passes, there is an altar dedicated to the Madonna of Pompei and a spiral staircase leading up to the organ."
