Ricardo Fischer
Ricardo Fischer (born May 16, 1991) is a Brazilian professional basketball player who currently plays for Flamengo in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Fischer has also represented the senior Brazilian national basketball team. Professional career In his pro career, Fischer has played in both the 2nd-tier South American League, and the 1st-tier FIBA Americas League. He has also played in the European-wide 2nd-tier level EuroCup. Flamengo On 7 July 2016, Flamengo announced Fischer as their major signing for the 2016–17 NBB season in Brazil. Bilbao Basket On 5 July 2017, Fischer signed a two-year deal with the Spanish club Bilbao Basket. On March 1, 2018, Fischer part ways with Bilbao Basket. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. The FIBA Americas League (Portuguese: ''FIBA Liga das Américas'', Spanish: ''FIBA Liga de las Américas''), officially abbreviated as the LDA, was the premier intercontinental basketball club competition played annually by clubs of the entire Americas. European Professional Club Basketball System
Professional basketball clubs in Europe can compete in a number of different competitions, including national leagues, regional (multi-national) leagues, and continental competitions. It is therefore possible for clubs from some countries to take part in several levels of competition in the same season. The South American professional club basketball system or South American professional club basketball pyramid is a series of interconnected competitions for professional basketball clubs in South America. The system has a hierarchical format with a promotion and relegation system between competitions at different levels. The Brazil national basketball team is governed by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation ( pt, Confederação Brasileira de Basketball), abbreviated as CBB. Basketball At The 2015 Pan American Games
Basketball competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 16 to 25 at the Ryerson Athletic Centre. A total of eight men's and women's teams competed in each tournament respectively. Competition schedule The following is the competition schedule for the basketball competitions: Medal table Medalists Qualification A total of eight men's teams and eight women's team will qualify to compete at the games. The top three teams at the South American and Central American and Caribbean Championships will qualify for each respective tournament. The host nation (Canada) along with the United States automatically qualifies teams in both events. Each nation may enter one team in each tournament (12 athletes per team) for a maximum total of 24 athletes. 2014–15 NBB Season
The 2014–15 NBB season was the 7th season of the Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. Once again this tournament was organized entirely by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB). The NBB also qualified teams for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and FIBA Americas League. This season sixteen teams were played each other in the regular season. At the end of the home and away matches round the top four teams qualified for the quarterfinals of the playoffs automatically, while the teams finishing in the 5th and 12th place participated in the first round of the playoffs to determine the other four teams in the quarterfinals, in a five-match series. This year NBB returned to a series in the Finals, played in a best of three-match. For this season, only the last regular season placed was relegated to the Liga Ouro, the NBB second division.
