Ribe Amt () is a former county (Danish: ''amt'') on the Jutland peninsula of southwest Denmark. It included Denmark's fifth largest city, Esbjerg. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it merged into Region of Southern Denmark (i.e. ''Region South Denmark''). It was often considered coterminous with South West Jutland (Danish: Sydvestjylland). Until 1 January 2007, Grindsted municipality was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Ribe County on the Jutland Peninsula in south-west Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 382 km², and had a total population of 17,379 (2005). Its latest mayor was Ib Kristensen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. Fanø () is a Danish island in the North Sea off the coast of southwestern Denmark, and is the very northernmost of the Danish Wadden Sea Islands. Fanø municipality is the municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') that covers the island and its seat is the town of Nordby.
