Ria Lina
Ria Lina (born 1980) is a British comedian, actress and writer. She has appeared on ''Yesterday, Today & The Day Before'', ''Mock the Week'', '' Steph's Packed Lunch'', ''The Now Show'', '' Sky News'' and '' Have I Got News for You''. In 2003, she won an Ethnic Multicultural Media Academy award for Best Comedian. Life Lina's mother is from the Philippines and her father from Germany. She attended an American school in the Netherlands from the age of 14. Lina has three children, and was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder as an adult. Stand-up In 2003, Lina was a runner up at the first Funny Women Awards. Lina has taken five shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. ''School of Riason'' was nominated for the Amused Moose Laughter Awards, and contained one of Dave's Top 10 Jokes of the Fringe, and was later broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2016. High Wycombe, often referred to as Wycombe ( ), is a market town in Buckinghamshire, England. The Dog Ate My Homework
"The dog ate my homework" (or "My dog ate my homework") is an English expression which carries the suggestion of being a common, poorly fabricated excuse made by schoolchildren to explain their failure to turn in an assignment on time. The phrase is referenced, even beyond the educational context, as a sarcastic rejoinder to any similarly glib or otherwise insufficient or implausible explanation for a failure in any context. The claim of a dog eating one's homework is inherently suspect since it is both impossible for a teacher to disprove and conveniently absolves the student who gives that excuse of any blame. The BBC New Comedy Award first took place in 1995, and it is considered to be one of the top UK comedy newcomer awards. It was axed in 2006, being replaced by a nationwide talent hunt that places its emphasis on sketch writing and filmed performance. ''Breaking the News'' is a 1912 Australian melodrama film directed by W. J. Lincoln based on John Longstaff's 1887 painting of the same name. It is considered a lost film. Plot A prospector looks for a wife to live with him and eventually gets married. While he is in town, the mine floods and miners need to be rescued. The main scenes were: *mining machinations; *a woman's sacrifice; *a man's desperation and love; *a father's sad mistake *man's sure revenge. Cast *Harrie Ireland *Arthur Styan Production The film was shot at Diamond Creek, near Melbourne. Reception The movie was a popular success with critics drawing particular attention to a scene of an underground mine being flooded.
