Ria Formosa
The Ria Formosa lagoon, located in the Algarve, in southern Portugal, is a system of barrier islands that connects to the sea through six inlets. Five of these inlets are natural and have mobility characteristics. The sixth is an artificial inlet that was opened with the purpose of allowing easier access to the port of Faro. In 2010, the lagoon was recognised as one of the country’s seven natural wonders. Following a public vote in which 656,356 voted, the Ria Formosa was announced the winner of the Marine Area category of the ‘7 Maravilhas Naturais de Portugal’. Presently the main inlet of the system is the Faro-Olhão inlet, which is an artificial construction. The process started in 1927 but it was only in 1952 that the engineering works were completed and it assumed the present configuration. Algarve
The Algarve (, , ; from ) is the southernmost NUTS II region of continental Portugal. Fuzeta
Fuseta () is a former civil parish in the municipality of Olhão, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Moncarapacho e Fuseta. The parish occupies an area of approximately and at the 2001 census had a population of 2,146. This parish belonged to the Tavira Municipality until 1876. History Fuseta, dates back to 1572, when it was then referred to as ''Fozeta'', a name that is derived from the diminutive for ''foz'' (referring to ''river mouth''); the ''Rio Tronoco'' disgorges into the sea from this location. Naturist

Barril Beach
Tavira Island ( pt, Ilha de Tavira) lies south of the town of Tavira, Portugal, just a few hundred metres off the coast. It is 11 kilometres long and varies between 150 m to 1 km in width. The island has 11 km of the best beaches in the Algarve, including areas where naturism can be legally practised. It is part of the Natural reserve of Ria Formosa. Vale Do Lobo
Vale do Lobo is a golf resort in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. Vale do Lobo comprises one of the three corners of the Golden Triangle of the Algarve's most affluent and expensive communities. The community hosted the Portuguese Open, part of the PGA European Tour, in 2002 and 2003. Cacela Island
Cacela Island is a sandy barrier island at the mouth of the Ria Formosa in the Algarve region of mainland Portugal. It was part of a peninsula up to the autumn of 2010, when as a result of storm action, the sea cut the peninsula and turned its westernmost part into an island. Access to the island's beach is made either by wading or boat. The island's beach is known as Praia da Fábrica, or "Factory Site Beach". The former peninsula was in length and its width was .
