Rhys Ab Owen
Rhys ab Owen (born 12 January 1987), also sometimes referred to as Rhys ab Owen Thomas is a Plaid Cymru politician. He was elected to the Senedd in the South Wales Central region in the 2021 Senedd election. ab Owen was Plaid Cymru's spokesperson in the Senedd for the constitution and justice. He is a barrister. Heledd Fychan
Heledd Fychan (born 20 September 1980) is a Welsh people, Welsh politician and is the current director of policy and political education for Plaid Cymru. She was elected to the Senedd for the South Wales Central (Senedd electoral region), South Wales Central region in May 2021. Early life Fychan is originally from Anglesey, and attended Ysgol Gynradd Talwrn and Ysgol Gyfun David Hughes. She studied History and Political Science at Trinity College Dublin, becoming Education Office for Trinity College Dublin's Student Union in 2003-2004, and Education Officer for the Union of Students in Ireland in 2004-2005. The Welsh Conservatives ( cy, Ceidwadwyr Cymreig) is the branch of the United Kingdom Conservative Party that operates in Wales. Mark Drakeford
Mark Drakeford (born 19 September 1954) is a Welsh politician serving as First Minister of Wales and Leader of Welsh Labour since 2018. He previously served in the Welsh Government as Cabinet Secretary for Finance from 2016 to 2018 and Minister for Health and Social Services from 2013 to 2016. Drakeford was first elected as the Member of the Senedd (MS) for Cardiff West in 2011. Drakeford was born in Carmarthen in West Wales. Cardiff West () is a constituency of the Senedd. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of eight constituencies in the South Wales Central electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to eight constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole. The constituency has twice provided the First Minister of Wales, Rhodri Morgan from 2000-2009 and Mark Drakeford from 2018–Present. 2017 Cardiff Council Election
The 2017 Cardiff Council Election was held on 4 May 2017 as part of the national 2017 Welsh local elections. The elections were preceded by the 2012 elections and will be followed by the 2022 elections. Election result Labour maintained control of the authority following these elections, gaining their highest popular vote since 1995, but ending up with a reduced number of seats. The Conservatives achieved their best result since the unitary council was created in 1995, winning twenty seats and replacing the Liberal Democrats as the official opposition on the council. Plaid Cymru also secured their highest popular vote, despite standing in fewer seats than in 2012, but only won three seats.
