Rhyl West
Rhyl West is the name of one of the electoral wards of the town of Rhyl, Denbighshire, Wales. It covers the northwest part of the town, including the town centre at one end and as far as Marine Lake and the Marina Quay on the western edge. Rhyl East ward lies to the east, Rhyl South West to the south and Conwy County Borough's Kinmel Bay ward to the west. Description Rhyl West includes Rhyl town centre and the area of the town to the southwest. According to the 2011 UK Census the population of the ward was 4,386 (with 3,369 of voting age). In 2008 Rhyl West was measured as the most deprived ward in Wales, according to the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation. Rhyl Town Council
Rhyl (; cy, Y Rhyl, ) is a seaside town and community in Denbighshire, Wales. The town lies within the historic boundaries of Flintshire, on the north-east coast of Wales at the mouth of the River Clwyd ( Welsh: ''Afon Clwyd''). To the west is Kinmel Bay and Towyn, to the east Prestatyn, and to the southeast Rhuddlan and St Asaph. At the 2011 Census, Rhyl had a population of 25,149, with Rhyl–Kinmel Bay having 31,229. Rhyl forms a conurbation with Prestatyn and its two outlying villages, the Rhyl/Prestatyn Built-up area, whose 2011 population of 46,267 makes it north Wales's most populous non-city (the city of Wrexham's being greater). Point FM
Point FM was a community radio station serving northern Denbighshire and eastern parts of Conwy County Borough in North Wales. Owned and operated by Radio Elwy Ltd, the station broadcast locally on 103.1 FM and online. Point FM's programming largely consisted of music and talk output alongside local news features and information, specialist music output, sports coverage and live event outside broadcasts with automated music during non-programming hours. Apart from national news bulletins produced by Sky News Radio, most of the station's output was produced and presented locally. 2017 Denbighshire County Council Election
The 2017 Denbighshire County Council election took place in Denbighshire, Wales, on 4 May 2017 to elect members of Denbighshire Council. This was the same day as other 2017 United Kingdom local elections. The previous elections took place in 2012 and the next all-council elections took place in 2022. Background Though the Labour Party had ended up as the largest group, following the previous elections in 2012, they had chosen not to lead the council. Denbighshire County Council
Denbighshire County Council is the unitary local authority for the county of Denbighshire, one of the principal areas of Wales. The council is based at County Hall in Ruthin. Chris Ruane
Christopher Shaun Ruane (born 18 July 1958) is a Welsh Labour politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Vale of Clwyd from 1997 to 2015 and 2017 to 2019. Early life Ruane attended Ysgol Mair Roman Catholic primary school in Rhyl. He then attended the Blessed Edward Jones Catholic High School on ''Cefndy Road'', also in Rhyl.
