Reynolds Michael Tan
Reynolds Michael Tee Tan (born November 18, 1988) is a Filipino politician from the province of Samar. He currently serves as Philippine House of Representatives member for the 2nd District of Samar since 2022. He formerly served as Governor of Samar and Vice Governor. Political career In 2019, Tan ran and won as Vice Governor of Samar beating former Vice Governor Jesus Redaja. He succeeded the post from his brother Stephen James Tan who held the position for three terms. In November 30, 2019, Tan succeeded the position of Governor after the untimely demise of his mother, Governor Milagrosa Tan. In 2022, Tan although still eligible to run for Governor did not file for re-election but instead ran for Congressman of the 2nd District of Samar, switching places with his sister Sharee Ann Tan. Catbalogan City
Catbalogan, officially the City of Catbalogan ( war, Siyudad han Catbalogan; fil, Lungsod ng Catbalogan), is a 5th class component city and capital of the province of Samar, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 106,440 people. It is Samar's main commercial, trading, educational, financial and political center. Samar's 2nd Congressional District
Samar's 2nd congressional district is one of the two congressional districts of the Philippines in the province of Samar. It has been represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 1916 and earlier in the Philippine Assembly from 1907 to 1916. The district consists of the provincial capital city of Catbalogan and adjacent municipalities of Basey, Calbiga, Daram, Hinabangan, Jiabong, Marabut, Motiong, Paranas, Pinabacdao, San Jose de Buan, San Sebastian, Santa Rita, Talalora, Villareal and Zumarraga. Samar, officially the Province of Samar ( war, Probinsya han Samar; tl, Lalawigan ng Samar), formerly named as Western Samar, is a province in the Philippines located in the Eastern Visayas region. Its capital is the city of Catbalogan. It is bordered by Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte and the Leyte Gulf, and includes several islands in the Samar Sea.
