Reynir Sandgerði, sometimes known as Reynir S., is an Icelandic sports club based in Sandgerði on the Reykjanes peninsular. The club has active departments in football, basketball and swimming. Basketball Reynir Sandgerði's basketball department was founded in 1980. It played in the top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla during the 1989–1990 season. In 2021, the team won 2. deild karla and was promoted to 1. deild karla. Prior to the start of the 2021–2022 season, the team withdrew from competition. Sandgerðisbær () is a former Icelandic municipality located in southwestern Iceland on the Southern Peninsula (Iceland), Southern Peninsula. In 2018 it merged with Garður to create the new municipality of Suðurnesjabær.Við áramót
