Rex How ( zh, t=郝明義, born on March 30, 1956, pen name Ma-Li ) is a Taiwan and Chinese publisher. He is the founder and Chairman of ChineseCUBES, Locus Publishing, and Net and Books. Early life and education How was born in Busan Metropolitan City (or Pusan), South Korea in 1956. He attended the Busan Overseas Chinese Elementary, Middle and High School. In 1974, he studied at the National Taiwan University, where he later completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in International Trade in 1978. Career After graduation Rex entered the publishing industry. He started working as a freelance editor, editor, and then the editorial director at Long Bridge Publishing. Later, he became the chief editor of 2001 Magazine, as well as the chief editor of “Productivity Magazine”. Taipei International Book Exhibition
The Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE; ) is a book fair organized by the Taipei Book Fair Foundation and supervised by the Government Information Office. It was established on 15 December 1987 at the National Central Library and focused on distribution and copyright negotiations between international publishers. The second show was held two years later at the Taipei World Trade Center, which has remained its venue since. In 1998, the fair switched from a bi-annual to an annual schedule, and is now held every February. Attendance to the event has continued to increase, making the Taipei International Book Exhibition the largest book fair in Asia. The book fair is currently the fourth largest in the world, behind the Frankfurt Book Fair, BookExpo America (BEA), and the Bologna Children's Book Fair. Jimmy Liao
Jimmy Liao (; pen name: , ; born 15 November 1958) is a Taiwanese illustrator as well as a picture book writer. His Chinese pen name, 幾米, is phonetically derived from his English given name Jimmy. Biography After graduating from Chinese Culture University in which he majored in art, Jimmy worked in an advertising company for twelve years, and then he worked as an illustrator for newspapers and magazines. Jimmy was a middle-aged man who had survived a battle with leukemia in 1995 and was determined to devote himself heart and soul to his art. In 1998 his picture books ''Secrets In The Forest'' (森林裡的秘密) and ''A Fish With A Smile'' (微笑的魚) were published in Taiwan.
