Revis
Revis was an American post-grunge band from Carbondale, Illinois. They released one major label album, '' Places for Breathing'', in 2003 before disbanding in 2005. After a five-year hiatus, the band reformed in 2010 and began work on a follow-up EP, ''Fire and Ice''. The sessions were so prolific that the project turned into a full album release with a new name, now titled '' Do We Have to Beg?''. The album was completed and scheduled for release on May 20, 2011, however, "legal issues" and internal disagreements with their record label kept them from releasing the album, quietly delaying it days before release. The band initially announced plans to re-record the entire album without the help of a label, but after a quiet year with few updates, the band announced they had broken up in May 2012, without any plans on releasing the album outside of a few songs that had been released previously for promotional purposes. ''Do We Have to Beg?'' was to be the second studio album by the American rock band Revis. It was originally set to be named ''Fire and Ice'' and to be released on July 27, 2010, but was later delayed to have several more songs added before release. It was then scheduled for release on May 20, 2011, exactly eight years since their first album, 2003's '' Places for Breathing'', but was again delayed, one day before release, without explanation or future date. The band eventually cited legal and monetary issues with their contract with the record label, resulting in them walking way from the session's material. "Caught in the Rain" is a song by American post-grunge band Revis that first appeared in the end credits to ''Daredevil'', and was also included in the film's soundtrack '' Daredevil: The Album''. It was released in April 2003 as the lead single from the band's debut album, '' Places for Breathing''. The track was the band's highest charting song, being a top 10 hit on the ''Billboard'' Mainstream Rock chart. Overview The single peaked at #20 on the Alternative Songs chart on June 7, 2003 and stayed on the chart for 16 weeks. Places For Breathing
''Places for Breathing'' is the first studio album by American post-grunge band Revis. Released in May 2003 on Epic Records, it was recorded in 2002 at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood. The album features the singles " Caught in the Rain" and "Seven" and debuted at number one on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Writing and recording All songs were written on acoustic guitar before being demoed. Guitarist Nathaniel Cox wrote all lyrics with some input by vocalist Justin Holman. "A Gift," "Seven," and "Straight Jacket Labels" served as the band's first three demos produced by Tommy Henriksen and Jeff Tilson. They then recorded "Caught in the Rain" and "Spin" to encourage further label hype prior to being signed. Upon their joining Epic Records, Revis worked with famed producer Don Gilmore as well as Andy Wallace and Alan Moulder on mixing. The Yelling (band)
The Yelling (formerly Maryandi) were a punk rock band from Los Angeles, California, United States, formed in the spring of 2008 by former Revis members Nathaniel Cox and Robert Davis. History Cox and Davis formed the Yelling because they wanted to pursue a new musical direction than they had with Revis, and Davis has said that they went "back to their roots" with the Yelling's establishment. Their musical style has been described as "a polyembryonal gametophyte mutation of Jack White, David Bowie, Angus Young, Cedric Bixler and Ozzy." Many other sources have also stated that their music sounds much like that of the '70s, with one reviewer comparing their sound to "Led Zeppelin crash nga Who recording session being produced by Iron Butterfly." Blind Melon
Blind Melon is an American rock band formed in 1990 in Los Angeles by five musicians: three from Mississippi, one from Pennsylvania and one from Indiana. The band currently consists of guitarists Rogers Stevens and Christopher Thorn, drummer Glen Graham, vocalist Travis Warren and bassist Nathan Towne. They are best known for their 1993 hit "No Rain", and enjoyed critical and commercial success in the early 1990s with their neo-psychedelic take on alternative rock. Nintendo's Fusion Tour provided early exposure for then-developing bands such as Evanescence, Story of the Year, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Anberlin and Panic! at the Disco. Tommy Henriksen
Tommy Henriksen (born February 21, 1964) is an American musician from Port Jefferson, New York, best known for his work as a guitarist, bassist and songwriter with Alice Cooper, Hollywood Vampires and German metal band Warlock. He has also fronted punk rockers P.O.L. and released several albums as a solo artist. In addition, Henriksen is a songwriter, arranger, producer and mixer who has worked with artists such as Lady Gaga, Meat Loaf, Lou Reed, Halestorm, Kesha, and Daughtry. Henriksen is currently based out of Zurich, Switzerland where he lives with his family. Ken Andrews (born Kenneth Andrew Doty; June 18, 1967) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. Andrews was born in Seattle, Washington, and attended film school in Los Angeles before his band Failure received a record deal from Slash Records.
