Reversion (2012 Film)
''Reversion'' is an animated short film directed by Giancarlo Ng and produced by ''The Magic Movie Machine'', a self-described collaborative animation team. The 11-minute short film was created using Blender. ''Reversion'' was awarded Best Design at the 2012 Suzanne Awards and Best in Technical Quality at Animahenasyon 2012. The short film was also named as a Division II winner at Asiagraph 2013 held in Tokyo, Japan. Plot The short film opens with an unidentified soldier infiltrating the facilities of a company known as 'Ethercorp'. Though the lobby is badly damaged, a still-functional computer display reveals the facility to be a medical research centre, located in the Congo. The soldier's helmet also bears Ethercorp's logo. As the soldier downloads tracking software from the computer, a reptilian creature lurks in the shadows above. Just before the creature strikes, the tracking software warns the soldier of its presence, and the creature flees under gunfire. The soldier ...

Reversion (genetics)
In biology, a mutation is an alteration in the nucleic acid sequence of the genome of an organism, virus, or extrachromosomal DNA. Viral genomes contain either DNA or RNA. Mutations result from errors during DNA or viral replication, mitosis, or meiosis or other types of damage to DNA (such as pyrimidine dimers caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation), which then may undergo error-prone repair (especially microhomology-mediated end joining), cause an error during other forms of repair, or cause an error during replication (translesion synthesis). Mutations may also result from insertion or deletion of segments of DNA due to mobile genetic elements. Mutations may or may not produce detectable changes in the observable characteristics (phenotype) of an organism. Mutations play a part in both normal and abnormal biological processes including: evolution, cancer, and the development of the immune system, including junctional diversity. Mutation is the ultimate source of al ...

Reversion (law)
A reversion in property law is a future interest that is retained by the grantor after the conveyance of an estate of a lesser quantum that he has (such as the owner of a fee simple granting a life estate or a leasehold estate). Once the lesser estate comes to an end (the lease expires or the life estate tenant dies), the property automatically reverts (hence ''reversion'') back to the grantor. A reversion interest is logically similar, but not legally identical, to the rights retained by someone who lends his property to another for a limited time. Although the bailee has the right to possess the property during the limited duration, these rights are neither permanent nor exclusive. When the time comes, the property rights of possession will terminate and return to the holder of the reversion. Reversions are commonly created in real property transactions, particularly during lease arrangements as well as devise (the transfer of real property through a will). In the context of ...

Reversion (software Development)
In software development (and, by extension, in content-editing environments, especially wikis, that make use of the software development process of revision control), reversion or reverting is the abandonment of one or more recent changes in favor of a return to a previous version of the material at hand (typically software source code in the context of application development; HTML, CSS or script code in the context of web development; or content and formatting thereof in the context of wikis). A revert may be done for a wide variety of reasons, including: fixing errors introduced by previous edits; restoring the material to a state that was not contentious until new disputes can be resolved; undoing scope creep; regression testing; and even petty malice, vandalistic intent, or personal unhappiness with the author of a previous change. While the is generally agreed to be a sound and sometimes necessary one, particular instantiations of its use may be at least as controversial a ...

Series Reversion
In mathematical analysis, the Lagrange inversion theorem, also known as the Lagrange–Bürmann formula, gives the Taylor series expansion of the inverse function of an analytic function. Statement Suppose is defined as a function of by an equation of the form :z = f(w) where is analytic at a point and f'(a)\neq 0. Then it is possible to ''invert'' or ''solve'' the equation for , expressing it in the form w=g(z) given by a power series : g(z) = a + \sum_^ g_n \frac, where : g_n = \lim_ \frac \left left( \frac \right)^n \right The theorem further states that this series has a non-zero radius of convergence, i.e., g(z) represents an analytic function of in a neighbourhood of z= f(a). This is also called reversion of series. If the assertions about analyticity are omitted, the formula is also valid for formal power series and can be generalized in various ways: It can be formulated for functions of several variables; it can be extended to provide a ready formula for for an ...

Reversis
Reversis, or more rarely, Réversi, is a very old trick-taking card game of the Hearts group whose origin is supposed to be Italian, transformed into Spain and then in France. It is considered one of the two probable ancestors of Hearts, Black Lady and Black Maria, the other being ''Coquimbert'' or ''Coquinbert''. It was very popular with the French aristocracy in the 17th and 18th centuries, and much played elsewhere, except in Britain. Initially quite simple, the game eventually developed into an elaborate affair involving vast quantities of counters and a complex system of pools and side-payments. Its name may have possibly come from the reverse order and construction of the game itself, or even from its exceptional slam which, like "shooting the moon" in Black Lady, reverses the entire aim of the game. History The game of Reversis was first mentioned in France in 1601, under the name Reversin, played with a 52-card pack and is the subject of a poem written around 1611 by Ant ...
