''Revenge of the Barbarians'' ( it, La vendetta dei barbari) is a 1960 film about the sack of Rome in AD 410 by the Visigoths. This film was written by Gastone Ramazzotti and directed by Giuseppe Vari. Cast Production Anthony Steel had moved to Rome following his divorce from Anita Ekberg and this was the first of several movies he made in that country. Giuseppe Vari
Giuseppe Vari (9 March 1924 – 1 October 1993) was an Italian film director, editor and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Segni, Rome, Vari started his career as an editor of films and documentaries, collaborating among others with Federico Fellini, Damiano Damiani and Giorgio Simonelli. In 1953 he made his directorial debut with ''Infame accusa'', then specialized in melodramatic films. From the early sixties he focused on genre films, especially Spaghetti Westerns, sometimes being credited as Joseph Warren. Cesare Fantoni (1 January 1905 – 15 January 1963) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Born in Bologna, Fantoni began his acting career in Luchino Visconti’s stage proses until making his first on-screen appearance in 1937. He made his debut film appearance in '' Doctor Antonio''. He then appeared in more than 70 films between 1939 and 1962.
