''Revelation'' is the thirteenth studio album by The Brian Jonestown Massacre. It was released in May 2014 on band leader Anton Newcombe's A Records label. Recorded between late 2012 and early 2014, it is the first album to be fully recorded and produced at Anton Newcombe's recording studio in Berlin. It peaked at number 135 on the UK album chart. The Brian Jonestown Massacre
The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American musical project and band led and started by Anton Newcombe. It was formed in San Francisco in 1990. The group was the subject of the 2004 documentary film called '' Dig!'', and have gained media notoriety for their tumultuous working relationships as well as the erratic behavior of Newcombe. The collective has released 18 albums, five compilation albums, five live albums, 13 EPs, 18 singles as well as two various-artist compilation albums to date. The bandname is a ''portmanteau'' of deceased Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones and the 1978 Jonestown Massacre. Releases 1993–1996: Early years The collective was founded by Anton Newcombe in San Francisco between 1990 and 1993. Neo-psychedelia
Neo-psychedelia is a diverse genre of psychedelic music that draws inspiration from the sounds of 1960s psychedelia, either updating or copying the approaches from that era. Originating in the 1970s, it has occasionally seen mainstream pop success but is typically explored within alternative rock scenes. It initially developed as an outgrowth of the British post-punk scene, where it was also known as acid punk. Anton Newcombe
Anton Alfred Newcombe (born August 29, 1967) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and founder of the music group The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Newcombe was the subject of the 2004 documentary film '' Dig!'', along with Portland, Oregon alternative rock band The Dandy Warhols. Music Newcombe started in the 1980s recording with a band called Homeland. Besides his own group, Newcombe has worked with a number of bands, most notably The Dandy Warhols, The High Dials, The Manvils, Innaway, and The Quarter After.
