Return Of Ultraman
is a List of Japanese television series, Japanese ''tokusatsu'' Science fiction on television, science fiction television series produced by Tsuburaya Productions. The fourth entry in the Ultra series, the series aired on Tokyo Broadcasting System from April 2, 1971, to March 31, 1972. It became successful enough to inspire a second "''Kaiju'' Boom" in Japan, with rival studios producing their own ''tokusatsu'' shows and Tsuburaya Productions producing additional Ultraman shows annually for the next three years. Prior to the series' release, ''Ultra Q'', ''Ultraman (1966 TV series), Ultraman'', and ''Ultraseven'' were stand-alone titles however, ''Return of Ultraman'' is the first installment to unite the first three shows into an interconnected universe. Ishirō Honda
was a Japanese filmmaker who directed 44 feature films in a career spanning 59 years. The most internationally successful Japanese filmmaker prior to Hayao Miyazaki, his films have had a significant influence on the film industry. Honda entered the Japanese film industry in 1934, working as the third assistant director on Sotoji Kimura's ''The Elderly Commoner's Life Study''. After 15 years of working on numerous films as an assistant director, he made his directorial debut with the short documentary film ''Ise-Shima'' (1949). Eiji Tsuburaya
was a Japanese special effects director and cinematographer. Known as the he worked on 250 feature films in a career spanning 50 years. He is regarded as one of the co-creators of the ''Godzilla'' series, as well as the main creator of the ''Ultra'' series. During his rise to post-war fame in the wake of ''Godzilla'' (1954), it was widely reported that Tsuburaya was born on July 7, which is the high day of Tanabata (star festival), a sign of good fortune. Kenji Sahara
Kenji Sahara (佐原 健二 ''Sahara Kenji'') (born 14 May 1932) is a Japanese actor. He was born in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa. His birth name is Masayoshi Kato (加藤 正好 ''Katō Masayoshi''). Initially he used the name Tadashi Ishihara before changing it when he secured the lead role in ''Rodan'' (1956). Susumu Fujita
Susumu Fujita () (8 January 1912 – 23 March 1991) was a Japanese film and television actor. He played the lead role in Akira Kurosawa's first feature, ''Sanshiro Sugata'', and appeared in other Kurosawa films including ''The Men Who Tread On the Tiger's Tail'' (as Togashi, commander of the border guards) and ''The Hidden Fortress'' (as General Tadokoro). Ultraman Jack (character)
is the protagonist of the 1971–1972 ''tokusatsu'' Ultra Series, ''Return of Ultraman''. Sometime after Ultraseven's departure, Earth had entered a period of peace until a string of incidents wherein monsters awakened from slumber, appearing one after another. Jack bonded with the race car driver Hideki Go to save his life and as the former's means to operate on Earth while they joined MAT to fight against monster attacks and alien invasions. Ultraman (character)
is a fictional superhero who debuted in the pilot episode to his 1966 TV series of the same name, entitled "The Birth of Ultraman". He is the first ''tokusatsu'' hero launched by the ''Ultra Series'' and by extension, Tsuburaya Productions. His appearance in the entertainment world helped spawn the ''Kyodai'' Hero genre with countless shows such as '' Godman'' and ''Iron King''. Ultraman first appeared as the title character alongside his human host Shin Hayata in the 1966 Japanese television series, ''Ultraman'' which ran for 39 episodes. Following ''Ultraman's'' success, Tsuburaya created another Kyodai hero series still as part of their Ultra Series project, ''Ultraseven''.
