''Return of the Sentimental Swordsman'', also known as ''The Flying Blade'', is a 1981 Hong Kong ''wuxia'' film written and directed by Chor Yuen and produced by the Shaw Brothers Studio, based on Gu Long's ''Xiaoli Feidao'' series of novels. It stars Ti Lung, Alexander Fu Sheng and Derek Yee. It is the sequel to ''The Sentimental Swordsman'' (1977). It was one of Shaw Brothers' highest-grossing films in the studio's history, surpassing the original at the box office. An in-name-only "sequel", ''Perils of the Sentimental Swordsman'', was released in 1982, with no relation to the main character of Little Flying Dagger Li, instead being based in the ''Lu Xiaofeng'' novel series (also by Gu Long), and its previous film adaptations. Lu Xiaofeng is the fictional protagonist of the ''wuxia'' novel series ''Lu Xiaofeng Series'' by Gu Long. Lo Wei ( 12 December 1918 – 20 January 1996) was a Hong Kong film director and film actor best known for launching the martial arts film careers of both Bruce Lee, in ''The Big Boss'' and ''Fist of Fury'', and Jackie Chan, in ''New Fist of Fury''. Career Lo began his entertainment career as an actor in the Second World War. He moved to Hong Kong in 1948. During the 1950's Lo became a popular matinee idol. After Lee's death it was Lo who gave Jackie Chan his first shot at the big time as part of the wave of Bruceploitation. Lo is said to have been linked with Chinese organized crime, the Triads. Lo ran the production company "Lo Wei Motion Picture Company", which operated until 1977-78 due to heavy cost-cutting measures as a result of Jackie Chan signing a deal with Golden Harvest. Yuen Wah
Yuen Wah (born Yung Kai-chi; 2 September 1952) is a Hong Kong action film actor, action choreographer, stuntman and martial artist who has appeared in over 160 films and over 20 television series. Early life Born Yung Kai-chi on 2 September 1950 in Hong Kong, Kai attended the China Drama Academy, a Peking opera school in Hong Kong in the late 1950s and 1960s. He was instructed by Master Yu Jim Yuen and became a member of the Seven Little Fortunes along with fellow students including Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Yuen Qiu and Corey Yuen. Like the other students, he took his sifu's given name – " Yuen". In his biography, Jackie Chan stated that Yuen Wah's martial arts ability was well respected among his fellow students.
