Rettaisuzhi
''Rettaisuzhi'' is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Thamira. It stars filmmakers K. Balachander and Bharathiraja along with Anjali, Aari Arujunan, Jayachitra, Karunas, Manobala, and Ilavarasu in supporting roles. The film released on 23 April 2010. It marked the last film of K. Balachander before his death in December 2014. Plot The film unfolds in a village in Thirunelveli. Ramasamy (K. Balachander) is an influential man in the village, and he is a devoted to the principles of Congress since his childhood. He is against Singaravelan (Bharathiraja), a Communist. Their feud runs for over four decades. Even their grandchildren are against each other and they form gangs to express their enmity. However, a romance in the family changes the warm atmosphere. Chezhiyan is an Indian filmmaker and director of photography who works primarily in the Tamil film industry. He received critical acclaim for his work in ''Kalloori'' (2007), '' Paradesi'' (2013) and '' To Let'' (2017). Early life and education Chezhiyan was born in Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, where he did his early schooling. His parents were primary school teachers. Aari Arujunan, known by the mononym Aari, is an Indian actor who has appeared in Tamil language films. He made his lead debut in '' Rettaisuzhi'' (2010) produced by director Shankar, before having a breakthrough performance as Murugan in ''Nedunchaalai'' (2014) and starring in the supernatural thriller ''Maya''. Thamira (1967/1968 – 27 April 2021) was an Indian writer, film director and producer active in Tamil cinema. Life He began his career by assisting filmmakers K. Balachander and Bharathiraja. He made his directorial debut in 2010 with ''Rettaisuzhi'', and cast both his mentors in the film in important roles. Ilavarasu is an Indian cinematographer and actor, who works in the Tamil film industry. He started his career as a cinematographer and worked for 13 films, winning a Tamil Nadu State Film Award for one of them.
