Retro (Regine Velasquez Album)
''Retro'' is the eighth studio album of Filipino singer-actress Regine Velasquez, released in 1996 through PolyGram Records. The album contains new arrangements of songs from the 1970s and 1980s such as Andy Gibb's " I Can't Help It", a duet with Remus Choy of Grasshopper, Melissa Manchester's "Through the Eyes of Love" and Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is". Velasquez also did an acoustic version of Orleans's "Dance With Me" as a duet with her mother, Teresita Velasquez. Although most of the songs are remakes there are two songs ("Nothing Left for Me" and the lyrics to "Fly") with original content. Regine Velasquez
Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez ( ; born April 22, 1970) is a Filipina singer, actress, and record producer. She is considered one of the most influential figures in Philippine popular culture and is known for her vocal range and belting technique. She had unorthodox voice training during her childhood, where she was immersed neck-deep in the sea. Velasquez rose to prominence after winning the television talent show ''Ang Bagong Kampeon'' in 1984 and the Asia Pacific Singing Contest in 1989. "I Want to Know What Love Is" is a power ballad by the British-American rock band Foreigner. It was released in November 1984 as the lead single from their fifth album, ''Agent Provocateur''. Katrina "Trina" Belamide is a Philippines, Filipino songwriter and record producer. According to the ''Manila Times'' she has written songs for most of the Philippines' top recording artists. Career Belamide began taking piano lessons at age 8 and started writing songs at 15. In high school and college, she was active in glee clubs as both a singer and songwriter. Keith Forsey (born 2 January 1948) is an English pop musician and record producer. Early life Forsey began his career as a percussionist in the mid-late 1960s as the drummer for The SpectrumCaptain Scarlet and the Mysterons - The Vault - Chris Bentley - Signum Books - 2017 and as the drummer in Udo Lindenberg's Panik Orchester until 1976, during which he also played percussion for Amon Düül II.
