Rock (music)
Rock music is a broad genre of popular music that originated as "rock and roll" in the United States in the late 1940s and early 1950s, developing into a range of different styles in the mid-1960s and later, particularly in the United States and United Kingdom.W. E. Studwell and D. F. Lonergan, ''The Classic Rock and Roll Reader: Rock Music from its Beginnings to the mid-1970s'' (Abingdon: Routledge, 1999), p.xi It has its roots in 1940s and 1950s rock and roll, a style that drew directly from the blues and rhythm and blues genres of African-American music and from country music. Rock also drew strongly from a number of other genres such as electric blues and folk, and incorporated influences from jazz, classical, and other musical styles. For instrumentation, rock has centered on the electric guitar, usually as part of a rock group with electric bass guitar, drums, and one or more singers. Usually, rock is song-based music with a time signature using a verse–chorus form, but ...

Pop Music
Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. The terms ''popular music'' and ''pop music'' are often used interchangeably, although the former describes all music that is popular and includes many disparate styles. During the 1950s and 1960s, pop music encompassed rock and roll and the youth-oriented styles it influenced. ''Rock'' and ''pop'' music remained roughly synonymous until the late 1960s, after which ''pop'' became associated with music that was more commercial, ephemeral, and accessible. Although much of the music that appears on record charts is considered to be pop music, the genre is distinguished from chart music. Identifying factors usually include repeated choruses and hooks, short to medium-length songs written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure), and rhythms or tempos that can be easily danced to. Much pop music also borrows elements from other styles ...

Historias E Histeria
''Historias e Histeria'' is La Ley's second greatest hits compilation album. The band was convinced to do this in lieu of a new studio album. The band had to make an album of 16 songs (with three new ones) in very limited amount of time. The album was released almost immediately after their previous album '' Libertad'' after only one year of the latter's release. The album contains some of the most popular songs of each of their albums plus three new songs, "Mirate", "Histeria", and "Bienvenido al Anochecer." The first single of the album ''Mírate'' was released while the band was still promoting the final single "Mi Ley" from the album, ''Libertad''. Adaptación (La Ley Album)
''Adaptación'' is the eighth and final studio album of the Chilean group La Ley, released on April 8, 2016. It is the first album that unites the band after a 9-year hiatus which had started in 2005. Notably thirteen years separate ''Adaptación'' of its predecessor studio album, ''Libertad''. The album was produced by Jean-Yves ''Jeeve'' Ducornet (co-author of the song ''Quiero Creer'' by Beto Cuevas and the promotional single ''Ya No Estás''), Guillermo Porro and the same band. The album has a total of 12 songs. However, in the words of the members of the band, there will be a ''deluxe'' version featuring three ''bonus tracks'' (''War of Love'', ''Prisionero Sin Palabras'' and ''Sigo Viendo''). Two songs are in English (''Child'' and ''Soul Chauffeur''). Originally, there were plans for three, but the label asked that one be adapted into Spanish (''Guerras de Amor''). Invisible (La Ley Album)
''Invisible'' is La Ley's fourth album. It is their second best selling album. The album reunites La Ley again with Rodrigo Aboitiz and invites a new member, Pedro Furgone, after the death of founder Andres Bobe. The album begins the dark era of La Ley. It was also La Ley's first album to have a song completely in French ("Deuxième Fois"). The album contains the number one hits "El Duelo", "Día Cero", and "Cielo Market". Backstory and Reception In 1994, Bobe died in a motorcycle accident, an event that brought the group to a major crossroad. It was Beto Cuevas who ultimately became most prominent in the group as it weathered the disaster. He assumed the dual function of bandleader and spokesperson, steering the band through the catastrophe. Some months passed before the band regenerated to the form of a quintet once again, featuring Cuevas, Rojas, and Clavería, with new a guitarist, Pedro Frugone, and La Ley's former keyboard player, Aboitiz, who rejoined the group at that ...

Vértigo (La Ley Album)
''Vértigo'' is La Ley's fifth album, released in 1998. Content and reception Due to the success of ''Invisible'', the band hardly found time to record what would be their next album. However, in 1997 they began recording and announced the album's release date for the middle of that summer, but it was later delayed until 1998. At the time, Rodrigo Aboitiz (the band's keyboardist) caused a series of troubles, missing the first weeks of recording. Generally, the album was completed with the same band members that worked on ''Invisible'', but just before the release, Rodrigo Aboitiz left the band due to a drug problem. After the album was finished, he left the band, effectively leaving the band without a studio keyboardist. One month before the release of the album, the first single, "Fotofobia", was released and slashed by critics. After that, the album "Vértigo" was released to little fanfare, becoming the least successful of all the band’s albums. According to the band me ...

Uno (La Ley Album)
''Uno'' (English: ''One'') is the sixth studio album by Chilean rock band La Ley, released on February 21, 2000 by Warner Music Group. Content Recording This was the first album released by the band after the departure of Rodrigo Aboitiz and Luciano Rojas. The band went on to record this studio album as a trio, with the addition of guest Archie Frugone to record the bass tracks. Touring bassist J.C. Cumplido returned to tour with them until his departure from the lineup in 2001. Cumplido was replaced by Archie Frugone for the remainder of the tour and beyond. Style Stylistically, this album was seen as a departure from the darker, more electro-industrial style of '' Vértigo'', and the grunge-fused goth style of ''Invisible'', adopting a more straightforward Alternative Rock sound with fewer experimental ambient sounds. The song “Amor y Fe” goes back to the band’s original new wave sound, and can be traced back to 1990, when the band was in the studio for the '' ...

This is the band’s second studio album as a trio. Album theme The album's main theme is based on the September 11 attacks and its subsequent effects. Beto Cuevas also used different societal factors as themes for the songs. Most of the songs are about the search for liberty (expressing it the songs "Libertad" and "Ámate y Sálvate") while others talk about the world in which we are living today ("Y Los Demás"). Other songs deal with the corruption of politicians ("¿Sabes Quien Eres?") and a little about the world today ("Esa Es La Verdad" and "Mi Ley.") Aside from the more political topics, some of the songs have more relatable themes, such as never giving up on goals ("Durar Hasta el Final"). The album also tells various stories with topics such as suicide ("Más Allá"), long-distance relat ...
