Responsible Initiative
People and Territory (''Popolo e Territorio'', PT), originally Responsible Initiative (''Iniziativa Responsabile''), was a centre-right parliamentary party active in the Chamber of Deputies of Italy in 2011–2013. Launched on 20 January 2011, the group was supportive of Berlusconi IV Cabinet. A large majority of its members were elected in Southern Italy. Its counterpart in the Senate was National Cohesion, which was composed mainly of splinters from Future and Freedom. On 23 March 2011, Francesco Saverio Romano, a group member, was appointed minister of Agriculture. On 5 May 2011 Silvio Berlusconi appointed three under-secretaries from PT/IR: Giampiero Catone (Environment), Bruno Cesario and Catia Polidori (Economy and Finance). Francesco Saverio Romano
Francesco Saverio Romano (born 24 December 1964) is an Italian politician and lawyer. He served as the minister of agricultures in 2011 and a member of the Chamber of Deputies between 2001 and 2018. Early life and education Romano was born in Palermo on 24 December 1964. He holds a law degree, which he received from the University of Palermo in 1988. He was a board member of the Opera Universitaria. He joined the Christian Democracy party when he was a university student. Career Romano became a member of the provincial council of Palermo in 1990. From 1993 to 1994 he served as the councillor for viability. From 1997 to 2001 he was the president of IRCAC, a credit institution in Sicily. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies from his constituency, Bagheria, in 2001. He was the secretary of state for labour in the third cabinet of Silvio Berlusconi. Domenico Scilipoti
Domenico Scilipoti Isgrò (born 26 August 1957 in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Sicily) is an Italian politician and doctor. Biography Domenico Scilipoti graduated from the University of Messina in medicine and surgery, getting a specialization in gynecology and obstetrics. He practices as a gynecologist and acupuncturist and was a visiting professor at the Departamento de Anatomia Humana at the Federal University of Paraná (State of Brazil) and the A.B.P.S. of Salvador de Bahia (Brazil). Scilipoti was municipal councilor in Terme Vigliatore (Messina) from 1983 to 1998 and from 2003 to 2005; for the same municipality he also served as deputy mayor in 1986 and as assessor of budget and finance in 1998. The Movement of National Responsibility (''Movimento di Responsabilità Nazionale'', MRN) was a small centrist parliamentary political party in Italy led by Domenico Scilipoti. Background The party was founded on 9 December 2010 by three deputies coming from centre-left parties and headed to support the centre-right government led by Silvio Berlusconi: Massimo Calearo (ex- PD and ex-ApI), Bruno Cesario (ex-PD and ex-ApI) and Domenico Scilipoti (ex- IdV). On 14 December the three deputies voted in favour of Berlusconi in a close vote of confidence. Silvano Moffa
Silvano Moffa (born 21 April 1951 in Rome, Lazio) is an Italian politician and journalist. Biography Moffa joined the Italian Social Movement in 1970 and in 1973 he was elected municipal councilor in Colleferro. In 1975 he became journalist of the newspaper Secolo d'Italia, of which he became editor-in-chief in 1977. He left the newspaper in 1989 to devote himself more to politics. In 1993 Moffa was elected Mayor of Colleferro with the 51.0% of the vote and he was reconfirmed in 1997, with the 66.5% of the vote. He remained Mayor of Colleferro until 2001. In 1998 he was also elected President of Province of Rome with the 51.1% of the vote, but he was defeated by Enrico Gasbarra.
