Helen Lansdowne Resor
Helen Bayless Lansdowne Resor (February 20, 1886 – January 2, 1964) was an American advertising executive with J. Walter Thompson, J. Walter Thompson Co. A noted copywriter,"The Greatest Copywriter," The New York Herald Tribune, January 3, 1964 she was posthumously inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame in 1967. Resor is credited as the first woman in American history to design and implement national advertising campaigns (source). She was named #14 on the list of 100 Advertising people of the 20th Century by ''Advertising Age''. Career One of several children raised by a single mother who worked as a librarian and real estate agent, Lansdowne Resor followed her mother's example and entered the workforce after her graduation from high school in 1903. Helen Resor (born October 18, 1985) is an American ice hockey player. She won a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics. She graduated from Yale University in 2009. Helen Resor was the first Yale hockey player to compete in women’s ice hockey at the Olympics. Pam Resor
Pamela P. Resor (born 1942) is an American politician who was the Massachusetts State Senator for the Middlesex & Worcester District from her election in 1999 to her retirement in 2009. Resor attended Smith College in the 1960s. In 1978 she was President of the League of Women Voters. From 1981 to 1987 she was a member of the Acton, Massachusetts board of selectmen. She was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1990 and then was elected to the Massachusetts Senate in a special election in 1999. She served as the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources, and Agriculture and the Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change. In early February 2008, Resor announced that she would retire from the Massachusetts Senate at the end of her term. Stanley Rogers Resor (December 5, 1917 – April 17, 2012) was an American lawyer, military officer, and government official. Early life and education Born in New York City, he was the son of Helen Lansdowne Resor and Stanley B. Resor (pronounced REE-zor), president of the J. W. Thompson advertising agency and one of the originators of the modern advertising industry. While still a teenager he changed his name from Stanley Burnet Resor Jr. to Stanley Rogers Resor. After attending the Groton School, Resor attended Yale University, where he was tapped to join Scroll and Key. William Resor House
The William Resor House is a historic residence on Greendale Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Built in 1843, this three- story building is distinguished by architectural elements such as a mansard roof, third-story dormer windows, and a large wrap-around verandah porch. The front of the house is a simple square, but its facade is broken up by the roofline of the porch, which includes a gazebo with a dome and cast iron decorations.
