Resistencia, Chaco
Resistencia () is the capital and largest city of the province of Chaco in north-eastern Argentina. According to the 2010 census, the population of the city proper was 291,720 inhabitants. It is the anchor of a larger metropolitan area, Greater Resistencia, which comprises at least three more municipalities for a total population of 387,340 as of 2010. This conurbation is the largest in the province, and the eleventh most populous in the country. It is located along the Negro River, a tributary of the much larger Paraná River, opposite the city of Corrientes, Corrientes Province. The area was originally inhabited by Guaycuru aboriginals such as the Tobas. Their resistance to evangelisation postponed substantial European settlement until the late 19th century. Not until 1865 was a proper settlement established, and on January 27, 1878, Resistencia was formally established as the territorial capital. La Resistencia Dios, Patria y Familia (English: ''The Resistance God, Homeland and Family''), commonly known as La Resistencia, is a far-right militant organization that promotes Fujimorism in Peru. History Founding Ultraconservative groups began to emerge in Peru around 2017 when proposals to introduce gender studies to education curricula occurred. La Resistencia was founded in 2018 by Juan José Muñico, a politician of Popular Renewal who had reportedly been involved in the murder of a veteran of the Cenepa War in 1998. Fujimorism () denotes the policies and the political ideology of former President of Peru Alberto Fujimori as well as the personality cult built around him, his policies and his family. Resistencia ( ja, レシステンシア, link=no, foaled 15 March 2017) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. She was the leading juvenile filly in Japan in 2019 when she was unbeaten in three starts including the Fantasy Stakes and the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies. In 2020 she ran second in both the Oka Sho and the NHK Mile Cup. Background Resistencia is a bay filly with a white blaze bred in Japan by Northern Farm. During her racing career she was trained by Takeshi Matsushita and raced in the green, white and red colours of the Northern Farm affiliate U Carrot Farm. She was from the ninth crop of foals sired by Daiwa Major, an outstanding miler whose wins included the Tenno Sho, Mile Championship and Yasuda Kinen.
