''Resident Evil 3'' is a 2020 survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. It is a remake of the 1999 game '' Resident Evil 3: Nemesis''. Players control former elite agent Jill Valentine and mercenary Carlos Oliveira as they attempt to find a vaccine and escape from a city during a viral outbreak. The game is played from a third-person perspective and requires the player to solve puzzles and defeat monsters while being pursued by a creature called Nemesis. It was released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in April 2020 and for Amazon Luna, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in June 2022, with a Nintendo Switch cloud version also released in November 2022. Cutscene
A cutscene or event scene (sometimes in-game cinematic or in-game movie) is a sequence in a video game that is not interactive, interrupting the gameplay. Such scenes are used to show conversations between characters, set the mood, reward the player, introduce newer models and gameplay elements, show the effects of a player's actions, create emotional connections, improve pacing or foreshadow future events. Cutscenes often feature "on the fly" rendering, using the gameplay graphics to create scripted events. Cutscenes can also be pre-rendered computer graphics streamed from a video file. Pre-made videos used in video games (either during cutscenes or during the gameplay itself) are referred to as " full motion videos" or "FMVs". Cutscenes can also appear in other forms, such as a series of images or as plain text and audio. History ''The Sumerian Game'' (1966), an early mainframe game designed by Mabel Addis, introduced its Sumerian setting with a slideshow synchronized to ...

Automap
A mini-map or minimap is a miniature map that is often placed at a screen corner in video games to aid players in orienting themselves within the game world. They are often only a small portion of the screen and must be selective in what details they display. Elements usually included on mini-maps vary by video game genre. However, commonly included features are the position of the player character, allied units or structures, enemies, objectives, and surrounding terrain. Mini-maps have become very common in real-time strategy and MMORPG video games because they serve as an indication of where the current screen lies within the scope of the game world. Most first-person shooter games also have some version or variant of the mini-map, with the odd exception of '' Call of Duty: Modern Warfare'', often showing enemy and teammates locations in real-time. Features Many mini-maps make use of similar features. Common features are: Fog of war In many games using a mini-map, the mini- ...

Third-person Shooter
Third-person shooter (TPS) is a subgenre of 3D shooter games in which the gameplay consists primarily of shooting. It is closely related to first-person shooters, but with the player character visible on-screen during play. While 2D shoot 'em up games also employ a third-person perspective, the TPS genre is distinguished by having the game presented with the player's avatar as a primary focus of the camera's view. Definition A third-person shooter is a game structured around shooting,Nate Garrets, ''The Meaning and Culture of Grand Theft Auto: critical essays'' (McFarland, 2006)159 and in which the player can see the avatar on-screen in a third-person view.Anne-Marie Schreiner,Does Lara Croft Wear Fake Polygons? Scripted Sequence
In video games, a scripted sequence is a pre-defined series of events that occur when triggered by player location or actions that play out in the game engine. Function Some scripted sequences are used to play short cutscenes that the player has little control of. However, they are commonly used in games such as ''Half-Life'' or ''Call of Duty'' to bring in new enemies or challenges to the player in a seemingly surprising manner while they are still playing. They can also present further plot points without interrupting the player and making them watch a cutscene. The intended results of this style of presentation is to increase immersion and to maintain a smooth-flowing experience that keeps the player's interest. Scripted sequences trigger a number of things. A timer, a checkpoint or the progress of the game could activate a scripted sequence. For players that speedrun video games, skipping these scripted sequences that would otherwise slow down their completion time requires ...

Online Multiplayer
A multiplayer video game is a video game in which more than one person can play in the same game environment at the same time, either locally on the same computing system (couch co-op), on different computing systems via a local area network, or via a wide area network, most commonly the Internet (e.g. ''World of Warcraft'', ''Call of Duty'', ''DayZ''). Multiplayer games usually require players to share a single game system or use networking technology to play together over a greater distance; players may compete against one or more human contestants, work cooperatively with a human partner to achieve a common goal, or supervise other players' activity. Due to multiplayer games allowing players to interact with other individuals, they provide an element of social communication absent from single-player games. History Non-networked Some of the earliest video games were two-player games, including early sports games (such as 1958's ''Tennis For Two'' and 1972's ''Pong''), earl ...
