Reputation (1917 Film)
''Reputation'' is a lost 1917 American silent film drama film produced and distributed by the Mutual Film Company and starring Edna Goodrich. The film was directed by John B. O'Brien. Plot As described in a film magazine, Constance Bennett (Goodrich) is determined to make sufficient money to set her aunt up in business before her marriage, so she goes to New York City to work as a model in a cloak house. The manager Edmund Berste (Goldsmith), who has a jealous wife (Lee), takes a liking to Constance. The wife learns of this and goes to Constance's home town and denounces her. When Constance returns home, no one will have anything to do with her, so she returns to New York where her former employer Berste sets a trap for her. In order to save herself, Constance shoots Berste. However, at the trial she is acquitted, and shortly thereafter she and John Clavering (Hinckley) are married. John Bryn Williams (born 1977), known as John B, is an English disc jockey and electronic music producer. He is widely recognised for his eccentric clothing and wild hair and his production of several cutting edge drum and bass tracks. John B ranked number 76 in ''DJ Magazine''s 2010 Top 100 DJs annual poll, announced on 27 October 2010. Career Williams was born on 12 July 1977 in Maidenhead, Berkshire. He started producing music around the age of 14, and now is the head of drum and bass record label Beta Recordings, together with its more specialist drum and bass sub-labels Nu Electro, Tangent, and Chihuahua. Mathilde Brundage (September 22, 1859 – May 6, 1939) was an American actress. She appeared in 87 films between 1914 and 1928. Also known as Bertha Brundage, she was born in Louisville, Kentucky. For much of her life, her family thwarted her desire to act on stage. Brundage's film debut came in ''The Crucible'' (1914); her last film was ''That's My Daddy'' (1928). On May 6, 1939, Brundage died in St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, California. Nellie Parker Spaulding
Nellie Parker Spaulding (August 4, 1870 – June 18, 1945) was an American silent film actress who appeared in at least 37 films between 1915 and 1925. Early life and career Parker was born in Machias, Maine and educated at the Emerson College of Expression in Boston. Her early career was in stage productions included '' The Country Boy, The Dawn of a To-morrow,'' and '' The Governor's Lady.'' She also worked with Union Opera Company. Parker's first film role came when she was 45 years old, in ''The Flying Twins'' (1915), playing the role of 'Aunt Sally'. Between 1915 and 1917 she would appear in 14 different Thanhouser Studio films. Originally billed as 'Eleanor Spaulding', she was using the more informal 'Nellie' by 1918. She most often played mothers, aunts, or older women, such as "Mrs. Peniston" in the first filmed version of Edith Wharton's ''The House of Mirth'' (1918). Edna Goodrich (born Bessie Edna Stevens; December 22, 1883 – May 26, 1971) was an American Broadway actress, ''Florodora'' girl, author, and media sensation during the early 1900s. At one point, she was known as one of America's wealthiest and best dressed performers. She was married to Edwin Stacey of Cincinnati, Ohio, and later Nat C. Goodwin.
