Republican National Party ( tr, Cumhuriyetçi Millet Partisi, CMP) was a former right-wing Turkish political party. The party was founded by the members of Nation Party which closed by the court on 27 January 1954. Osman Bölükbaşı with the former members of the Nation Party founded Republican National Party on 10 February 1954 just two weeks after the closure of the former party.Türkiye’nin 75 Yılı, Tempo Yayınları, İstanbul, 1998 Bölükbaşı became the chairman of the party. Even under this unfavorable conditions, in the elections held on 2 May 1954, Republican National Party won 5 seats by the rhetoric and campaigning efforts of Bölükbaşı. On June 24, 1957, the parliament stripped the Republican Nation Party leader Osman Bölükbaşı of his parliamentary immunity on grounds of "insulting the incorporeal personality of the parliament" and Bölükbaşı was arrested on July 2, on a court decision, which was abolished by another court order on July 23. Osman Bölükbaşı
Osman Bölükbaşı (1913 – February 6, 2002) was a Turkish politician and political party leader. Early life He was born at Hasanlar village of the former Mucur district in 1913. He completed his secondary education at the Istanbul High School. He studied Mathematics at the University of Nancy in France graduating in 1937. Returned home in 1938, Bölükbaşı began working as assistant to Fatin Gökmen at the Kandilli Observatory in Istanbul. In 1940, he took a teacher post in the Haydarpaşa High School, where he served until 1946. Political career Introduced to Mehmet Fuat Köprülü and Celal Bayar, the co-founders of the Democrat Party (DP) by Fatin Gökmen, Osman Bölükbaşı entered politics in 1946 becoming a party member. He was appointed Inspector General of the DP. The Republican Villagers Nation Party ( tr, Cumhuriyetçi Köylü Millet Partisi, CKMP), alternatively translated Republican Peasants' Nation Party, was a former political party in Turkey. Turkish Villagers' Party
Turkish Villagers' Party was a former Turkish political party. Following 27 years of single party rule, the Democrat Party (DP) defeated the Republican People's Party (CHP) in the 1950 elections. However, DP which was a champion of democracy during the opposition years, began to follow a more centralized policy in the party during its government years. During the provincial party congress held in Adana (then known as Seyhan) the party center supported a candidate against a popular candidate of the Adana partisans. After the congress three MPs (all of which were from Adana electoral district) as well as Adana mayor resigned from the party. On 19 May 1952, they formed the Turkish Villagers' Party. The leader of the party was Remzi Oğuz Arık an MP and a professor of archaeology. On 3 April 1954 Arık died on an airplane crash while flying from Adana to Ankara. Adnan Menderes
Adnan Menderes (; 1899 – 17 September 1961) was a Turkish politician who served as Prime Minister of Turkey between 1950 and 1960. He was one of the founders of the Democrat Party (DP) in 1946, the fourth legal opposition party of Turkey. He was tried and hanged under the military junta after the 1960 coup d'état, along with two other cabinet members, Fatin Rüştü Zorlu and Hasan Polatkan. One of the accusations brought against him was of him ordering the  Istanbul pogrom against citizens of Greek ethnicity. He was the last Turkish political leader to be executed after a military coup and is also one of the four political leaders of the Turkish Republic (along with Kemal Atatürk, Süleyman Demirel and Turgut Özal) to have had a mausoleum built in his honour.
