Republican Left of Catalonia–Sovereigntists ( ca, Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya–Sobiranistes, ERC–Sobiranistes) is an electoral coalition formed in Catalonia for the April 2019 Spanish general election by Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) and Sovereigntists (Sobiranistes). It was led by Oriol Junqueras, Gabriel Rufián and Carolina Telechea, with a member from Sobiranistes (Joan Josep Nuet) being reserved 4th place in the list for Barcelona. The alliance was maintained for the November 2019 general election. History Following the split of the Sobiranistes faction within Catalunya en Comú in February 2019 by deputies Elisenda Alamany and Joan Josep Nuet, ERC entered in coalition talks with the new party ahead of the April 2019 Spanish general election. Oriol Junqueras
Oriol Junqueras i Vies (; born 11 April 1969) is a Catalan politician and historian from Spain. A former mayor of the municipality of Sant Vicenç dels Horts in Catalonia, Junqueras served as Vice President of Catalonia from January 2016 to October 2017 when he was removed from office following the Catalan declaration of independence and entered prison until June 2021, for his role in organizing the 2017 Catalan independence referendum. He is president of the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC). Born in 1969 in Barcelona, Junqueras grew up in the municipality of Sant Vicenç dels Horts. Carolina Telechea i Lozano (born 9 August 1981) is a Catalan lawyer and politician from Spain. He is a member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain. Early life and family Telechea was born on 9 August 1981 in Igualada, Catalonia. She has a diverse family background - Andalusian, Argentine, Basque and Extremaduran. Her father was from Madrid while her mother was from Cáceres. Both parents worked in the textile industry and in the 1990s her father founded a computer company. She has two younger sisters who are twins. Telechea has a degree in law from the University of Barcelona and a postgraduate degree in legal practice from the Barcelona Bar Association. Alberto Carlos Garzón Espinosa (; born 9 October 1985) is a Spanish politician and economist, currently the Spanish Minister of Consumer Affairs. Ernest Maragall i Mira (born 5 January 1943, in Barcelona) is a Spanish economist, politician, member of the Parliament of Catalonia and former Minister of Foreign Action, Institutional Relations and Transparency of Catalonia. Barcelona is one of the 52 constituencies ( es, circunscripciones) represented in the Congress of Deputies, the lower chamber of the Spanish parliament, the Cortes Generales.
