It consists of the municipality of Saint-Sulpice, Quebec, Saint-Sulpice and part of the city of Repentigny, Quebec, Repentigny. It was created for the 2012 Quebec general election, 2012 election from part of the L'Assomption (provincial electoral district), L'Assomption electoral district. L'Assomption (''The Assumption'') is a regional county municipality in the Lanaudière region of Quebec, Canada. The seat is L'Assomption. L'Assomption is located directly north of the city of Montreal. Verchères (provincial Electoral District)
Verchères is a provincial riding in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. It corresponds exactly to the territory of Marguerite-D'Youville Regional County Municipality. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada). It disappeared in the 1939 election and its successor electoral district was Richelieu-Verchères; however, it was re-created for the 1944 election. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost Saint-Roch-de-Richelieu to the riding of Richelieu, La Présentation to the riding of Saint-Hyacinthe, and several municipalities to the riding of Borduas, but gained Sainte-Julie from the defunct riding of Marguerite-D'Youville. Scott McKay (born December 2, 1960) is a Canadians, Canadian politician, who served as a former leader of the Green Party of Quebec and a former Montreal council member. McKay was elected in 2008 to the Quebec National Assembly for the Parti Québécois but he was defeated in the 2014 Quebec general election, 2014 Quebec election. She was the member of the Quebec National Assembly for the Coalition Avenir Québec in the riding of Repentigny, having been elected in the 2014 and 2018 Quebec elections, not re-offering in 2022. Repentigny, Quebec
Repentigny () is an off-island suburb of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located north of the city on the lower end of the L'Assomption River, and on the Saint Lawrence River. Repentigny and Charlemagne were the first towns off the eastern tip of the Island of Montreal. Repentigny is part of the Lanaudière region. History It was founded in 1670 by Jean-Baptiste Le Gardeur, son of Seigneur Pierre Le Gardeur. During the town's first 250 years, Repentigny was only inhabited by a few hundred peasants, or habitants, and was an agricultural community. In 1677, the first population census only shows 30 inhabitants. Its first mayor was Benjamin Moreau 1855. Repentigny merged with its neighbouring city of Le Gardeur on June 1, 2002. The 2012 Quebec general election took place in the Canadian province of Quebec on September 4, 2012. Lieutenant Governor Pierre Duchesne dissolved the National Assembly on August 1, 2012, following Premier Jean Charest's request. The Parti Québécois were elected to a minority government, with Pauline Marois becoming the first woman to be Premier of Quebec. The Quebec Liberal Party took second place, with Premier Jean Charest losing his seat.
