''Renéessance'' (subtitled ''An Acoustic Journey, the Best of Renée Geyer'') is the fourteenth studio album by Australian soul and R&B singer Renée Geyer. The album contains newly recorded acoustic versions of songs Geyer has previously recorded in addition to some new material. The album was released in May 2009. Upon release, Geyer said “I’ve avoided doing this album for a long time for the simple reason that I’ve already done these songs. I finally said yes ’cause we agreed to do it live at my keyboard player’s house: just set up like an acoustic gig and play. People tend to like the intimacy of that. Renée Rebecca Geyer (born 11 September 1953) is an Australian singer who has long been regarded as one of the finest exponents of jazz, soul and R&B idioms. She had commercial success as a solo artist in Australia, with "It's a Man's Man's World", "Heading in the Right Direction" and " Stares and Whispers" in the 1970s and " Say I Love You" in the 1980s. NOTE: Used for Australian Singles and Albums charting until ARIA created their own charts in mid-1988. Geyer has also been an internationally respected and sought-after backing vocalist, whose session credits include work with Sting, Chaka Khan, Toni Childs and Joe Cocker. ''Dedicated'' is the thirteenth studio album by Australian soul and R&B singer Renée Geyer. The album is predominantly a covers album, with two new tracks written by Paul Kelly. The album was released in September 2007 and peaked at number 53 on the ARIA Charts. Geyer toured the album throughout Australia from October to December 2007. ''The Ultimate Collection'' (subtitled ''Celebrating Four Decades of Soul'') is the fourth greatest hits album by Australian musician Renée Geyer. It was released in March 2010 by Warner Music Australia and peaked at number 21 on the RIANZ charts, becoming Geyer's highest charting album in New Zealand. Background and release Geyer's career has spanned four decades and has achieved commercial success, appearing on the Australian charts since the 1970s to 2000s. The 17 tracks were selected by Geyer. She believes that they are fan favourites and are always requested at live shows. In 2005, Geyer was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. "It's Too Late" is a song from American singer-songwriter Carole King's second studio album, ''Tapestry'' (1971). Toni Stern wrote the lyrics and King wrote the music. Raymond Earl Jackson (September 11, 1941 – November 10, 1972) was an American rhythm and blues songwriter, guitarist and record producer. His most successful songs, mostly written at Stax Records in the late 1960s and early 1970s, were "Who's Making Love", co-written with Homer Banks and Bettye Crutcher; and "(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right" and "If You're Ready (Come Go With Me)", both co-written with Banks and Carl Hampton.
