Alex Renton
Alexander James Torr Renton FRHistS (born 5 March 1961) is a British journalist and broadcaster. He is the author of several historical and investigative books including ''Blood Legacy: reckoning with a family's story of slavery'', and ''Stiff Upper Lip: secrets, crimes and the schooling of a ruling class''. Early life and education Renton was born in Toronto, Canada, on 5 March 1961, the oldest child of the politician Tim Renton, Baron Renton of Mount Harry and the novelist and historian Alice Blanche Helen Fergusson. He was educated at Ashdown House, East Sussex, Eton College, Brighton College and Exeter University. Career As a journalist he has held staff jobs as a reporter and editor on British newspapers ''The Independent'' and the ''London Evening Standard''. Dave Renton
David Renton (born 1972) is a British barrister, and has represented clients in a number of high-profile cases, especially concerning trade union rights and the protection of free speech. He was for many years a member of the Socialist Workers Party (SWP). He has published over twenty books on fascism, anti-fascism, and the politics of the left. Early life and education Renton was born in London in 1972. His great aunt was the Communist historian, Dona Torr. His grandfather was the shoe designer Kurt Geiger. One uncle was an activist in Equity, the actors' trade union, while another was the Conservative MP Tim Renton, Baron Renton of Mount Harry. David Renton
David Lockhart-Mure Renton, Baron Renton, (12 August 1908 – 24 May 2007) was a British politician who served for over 60 years in Parliament, 34 in the House of Commons and then 28 in the House of Lords. Renton was Member of Parliament for Huntingdonshire from 1945 to 1979, initially as a Liberal National and then in accordance with the party's successive mergers with the Conservatives, as a "National Liberal and Conservative", then in 1968 he was one of the final three National Liberal MPs who opted to wind up the party and become a full part of the Conservatives. He became a life peer in 1979, and was the oldest member of the House of Lords from 2004 until his death. Early life Renton was born in Dartford, the son of a surgeon and a nurse. David Malcolm Renton
David Malcolm Renton (February 8, 1878 – May 27, 1947), known as "DM", was a builder and business executive in southern California. He is best known for his Craftsman style homes in Pasadena and for the construction of the Casino Ballroom and other homes on Catalina Island in the early 1900s.
