Club Atlético Rentistas, known simply as Rentistas is a Uruguayan professional football club based in Cerrito de la Victoria, Montevideo. Founded in 1933, the club competes in the Uruguayan Segunda División. History In 1971, Rentistas was the first team of the neighbourhood (barrio) Cerrito de la Victoria that achieved promotion to the Uruguayan first division. They remained there until 1980. Rentistas returned to the first division on three other occasions (1989–92, 1997–01, 2004–07). In 1998 Rentistas inaugurated their new stadium, Complejo Rentistas. The club finished second in the Clausura and qualified for the CONMEBOL Cup 1999. Controversies Rentistas is known for their involvement in third-party ownership. 2022 Uruguayan Primera División Season
The 2022 Liga Profesional de Primera División season, also known as the Campeonato Uruguayo de Primera División 2022, was the 119th season of the Uruguayan Primera División, Uruguay's top-flight football league, and the 92nd in which it is professional. The season, which was named "Walter Devoto", began on 5 February and ended on 30 October 2022 due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar during November and December 2022. Nacional were the champions, winning their forty-ninth league title after placing first in the season's aggregate table and defeating Liverpool in the semi-final match. Peñarol were the defending champions. Teams 16 teams competed in the season: the top thirteen teams in the relegation table of the 2021 season as well as three promoted teams from the Segunda División. Uruguayan Segunda División
Segunda División Profesional is the second division of professional football in Uruguay, established in 1942. The league is sometimes referred to as ''Primera B''. Segunda División was first held in 1942 to replace amateur Divisional Intermedia, establishing a professional league for lower divisions in Uruguay. The most successful clubs are Fénix and Sud América with seven titles and the current champion is Albion. Franco Marcelo Pérez Portillo (born 1 August 2001) is a Uruguayan footballer who plays as a forward for Orlando City B on loan from Uruguayan Primera División club Rentistas. Enzo Joaquín Sosa Romañuk (born 10 January 2002) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Bologna. Club career Sosa is a youth academy graduate of Nacional. Julio Rodolfo Neme Moreno (born 18 September 1964) is a Uruguayan football manager and former player. Playing career Born in Montevideo, Neme played for Sud América, Rampla Juniors, Bella Vista, Liverpool Montevideo and Peñarol Durazno as a senior. He retired in 1991, aged 27.
