''Reno'' is a 1930 American pre-Code drama film directed by George J. Crone and starring silent serial queen Ruth Roland. It was produced and distributed by early sound era production studio Sono Art-World Wide Pictures. Roland's sound film debut, she would follow up with only one more talkie. Guy Edward Hearn (September 6, 1888 – April 15, 1963) was an American actor who, in a forty-year film career, starting in 1915, played hundreds of roles, starting with juvenile leads, then, briefly, as leading man, all during the silent era. Gayne Whitman (born Alfred D. Vosburgh; March 19, 1890 – August 31, 1958) was an American radio and film actor. He appeared in more than 200 films between 1904 and 1957. In some early films he was credited under his birth name. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. Whitman's theatrical debut came when he carried a spear behind an actor portraying King Richard III in a production in Indianapolis. As Allen Vosburgh, he was the leading man in the film ''Princess of the Dark'' (1917). Soon after that, he changed his screen name to Alfred Whitman because "1917 was not a good time to have a German sounding name." Alyce McCormick (1899 – January 5, 1932) was an American actress and a leader in the Volunteers of America (VOA). Early years McCormick was born in Chicago in 1899 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. McCormick. The family moved to Omaha when she was six or seven years old. Her father was a minister who was head of operations of the (VOA) for four states, and Maud Ballington Booth (co-founder of the group) was her godmother.
