Renny Rye Renny Rye is a British television director known for his work in television drama. He was born on 2 December 1947. Life and career Rye was born in Cambridge. He was a producer for ''Blue Peter'' and directed ''The Box of Delights'' from the John Masefield novel, which was broadcast in the run-up to Christmas 1984. He is well-known for his novels. Rye may be best known for directing the later work of Dennis Potter, '' Lipstick on Your Collar'' (1993) and two linked serials first shown in 1996, ''Karaoke'' and ''Cold Lazarus'', two years after Potter died. Chalfont St Peter is a large village and civil parish in southeastern Buckinghamshire, England. It is in a group of villages called The Chalfonts which also includes Chalfont St Giles and Little Chalfont. The villages lie between High Wycombe and Rickmansworth. The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is a film, television and games school established in 1971 and based at Beaconsfield Studios in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England. It is featured in the 2021 ranking by ''The Hollywood Reporter'' of the top 15 International film schools. Its community of students makes around a hundred and fifty films a year on courses that are over 90% practical and unlike courses offered at other UK film schools. Chiltern District
Chiltern District was one of four local government districts of Buckinghamshire in south central England from 1974 to 2020. It was named after the Chiltern Hills on which the region sits. The main towns in the district were Amersham and Chesham which are both served by London Underground's Metropolitan line. History It was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of the Chesham Urban District and surrounding Amersham Rural District. Chalfont Common
Chalfont Common is a hamlet in the parish of Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in the Chiltern Hills, approximately one mile to the north east of Chalfont St Peter village centre. Chalfont Common is west-north-west of Charing Cross, central London. It is located east of the River Misbourne and was one of Chalfont St Peter's three commons (the other two being Gold Hill Common and Austenwood Common). Housing of all sorts developed around and on the common, some dating back to the 1890s. In the 1960s a post office was constructed on the common, which has since closed. It is also the home of the Epilepsy Society which was founded in 1892. Gott's Monument Chalfont Common is also the home of Gott's Monument which was erected in 1785 by Sir H T Gott. ''Blue Peter'' is a British children's television entertainment programme created by John Hunter Blair. It is the longest-running children's TV show in the world, having been broadcast since October 1958. It was broadcast primarily from BBC Television Centre in London until September 2011, when the programme moved to dock10 studios at MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester. ''Cold Lazarus'' is a four-part British television drama written by Dennis Potter with the knowledge that he was dying of pancreatic cancer. It forms the second half of a pair with the television serial ''Karaoke''.
