Rendezvous Entertainment
Rendezvous Music (formerly known as Rendezvous Entertainment) is a record label founded by multiple-Grammy Award nominee and RIAA Certified Gold recording artist Dave Koz, radio entrepreneur Frank Cody and music business veteran Hyman Katz in 2002. At various times, the label has been distributed by Sony Music Entertainment's Red Distribution and Universal Music Group's Fontana Distribution. In 2008, artist Patti Austin received her first Grammy Award for album ''Avant Gershwin'' released on Rendezvous Entertainment in 2007. In 2011, artist Kirk Whalum received his first Grammy Award for song "It's What I Do" (feat. Lalah Hathaway) from album ''The Gospel According to Jazz Chapter III'' released on Rendezvous Music in 2010. Mack Avenue Records
Mack Avenue Records is an independent record label in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. Background Mack Avenue was founded in 1999 by Gretchen Carhartt Valade, a jazz fan and Chairperson, chair of the American apparel company Carhartt. The company is a sponsor of the Detroit International Jazz Festival, Detroit Jazz Festival, to which Gretchen Valade donated $15 million in 2006. Early Mack recording artists included Terry Gibbs, Oscar Castro-Neves, and George Shearing. Over time Mack Avenue signed veteran jazz musicians such as Gary Burton, Kevin Eubanks, Stanley Jordan, Christian McBride, Gerald Wilson, and the Yellowjackets (band), Yellowjackets. Lalah Hathaway
Eulaulah Donyll "Lalah" Hathaway (born December 16, 1968) is an American singer. In 1990 Hathaway released her first album titled ''Lalah Hathaway''. After releasing another album, titled '' A Moment'' (1994), it debuted at number 34 on the Top R&B albums chart. In 1999 she collaborated with Joe Sample on the album '' The Song Lives On''. After a five-year hiatus, she returned with her fourth album, '' Outrun the Sky'' (2004). The single "Forever, For Always, For Love" peaked at number 1 on the Hot Adult R&B Airplay. Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Ulrich Schröder (born 1 January 1964), known under the pseudonym Praful ( ), is an acid jazz artist who performs on several instruments including tenor and soprano saxophones, Indian bamboo flutes, pandeiros, Fender Rhodes and many electronic effects. Two of his CDs '' One Day Deep'' and '' Pyramid in Your Backyard'' have won many awards and worldwide recognition.
