Renaissance Group
The Renaissance group (french: groupe Renaissance), previously known as La République En Marche group (french: groupe La République en marche) is a parliamentary group in the National Assembly of France including representatives of Renaissance after the 2017 legislative elections. History On 24 June 2017, Richard Ferrand was elected president of the group with 306 votes and two abstentions. On 27 June, the group voted to designate François de Rugy its candidate for the president of the National Assembly, to be elected later that day; with a total of 301 votes cast, he collected 153 against 59 for Sophie Errante, 54 for Brigitte Bourguignon, 32 for Philippe Folliot, 2 blank votes, and 1 null vote. National Assembly (France)
The National Assembly (french: link=no, italics=set, Assemblée nationale; ) is the lower house of the bicameral French Parliament under the Fifth Republic, the upper house being the Senate (). The National Assembly's legislators are known as (), meaning "delegate" or "envoy" in English; etymologically, it is a cognate of the English word ''deputy'', which is the standard term for legislators in many parliamentary systems). There are 577 , each elected by a single-member constituency (at least one per department) through a two-round system; thus, 289 seats are required for a majority. Danièle Hérin
Danièle Hérin (born 14 January 1947) is a French computer scientist and politician of La République En Marche! (LREM) who was elected to the French National Assembly on 18 June 2017, representing Aude's 1st constituency. Political career After entering parliament, Hérin was one of the four deputy chairpersons of the LREM parliamentary group under the leadership of successive chairmen Richard Ferrand (2017-2018) and Gilles Le Gendre (since 2018). François De Rugy
François Henri Goullet de Rugy (; born 6 December 1973) is a French politician who served as President of the National Assembly from 2017 to 2018 and Minister of Ecological and Solidary Transition from 2018 to 2019. Since 2007, he has represented the Loire-Atlantique department, with an interruption between 2018 and 2019, originally as a member of the Democratic and Republican Left group, which includes his former political party Europe Ecology – The Greens. In 2015, he joined the Ecologist Party and later the La République En Marche group in Parliament. Richard Ferrand
Richard Ferrand (; born 1 July 1962) is a French politician of La République En Marche! (LREM) who served as President of the National Assembly from 2018 to 2022. He had served as a member of the National Assembly for Finistère's 6th constituency from 2012 to 2022. A longtime member of the Socialist Party, he was the General Secretary LREM from October 2016 and became the leader of the party's group of the National Assembly in June 2017. 2017 French Legislative Election
Legislative elections in France were held on 11 and 18 June 2017 (with different dates for voters overseas) to elect the 577 members of the 15th National Assembly of the Fifth Republic. They followed the two-round presidential election won by Emmanuel Macron. The centrist party he founded in 2016, La République En Marche! Renaissance (French Political Party)
Renaissance (RE), previously known as La République En Marche ! (frequently abbreviated LREM, LaREM or REM; translated as "The Republic on the Move" or "Republic Forward"), or sometimes called simply En Marche ! () as its original name, is a liberal political party in France.
