Remington Village Historic District
The Remington Village Historic District encompasses a World War I-era housing development in northeastern Bridgeport, Connecticut. Located on Willow Street and East Avenue between Boston and Barnum Avenues, the area was developed by the Remington Arms company to attract workers to its nearby munitions factory. The complex is a well-preserved example of wartime housing in the city, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Description and history Remington Village is located in northeastern Bridgeport, forming a densely built residential enclave in what is now a mixed-use residential/commercial/industrial area. It is located a short way southeast of the former Remington Arms factory site, now the location of Warren Harding High School. Bridgeport, Connecticut
Bridgeport is the most populous city and a major port in the U.S. state of Connecticut. With a population of 148,654 in 2020, it is also the fifth-most populous in New England. Located in eastern Fairfield County at the mouth of the Pequonnock River on Long Island Sound, it is from Manhattan and from The Bronx. World War I

Remington Arms Company, LLC was an American manufacturer of firearms and ammunition, now broken into two companies, each bearing the Remington name. The firearms manufacturer is ''Remington Arms''. The ammunition business is called ''Remington''. The company which was broken up was called Remington Outdoor Company. Sturm, Ruger & Co. purchased the Marlin Firearms division of the Remington Outdoor Company in 2020. Founded in 1816 by Eliphalet Remington (as E. Remington and Sons) in Ilion, New York, it was one of the oldest gun makers in the US and claimed to be the oldest factory in the US that still made its original product. Warren Harding High School
Warren Harding High School is a public high school in Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States. It is commonly called Harding High School. Its cornerstone was laid on May 10, 1924, and the school opened on September 9, 1925. The school is named for then recently deceased President Warren G. Harding. Hiss And Weekes
Hiss and Weekes was a notable architectural firm in New York City that was active from 1899 to 1933 and constructed a number of landmark buildings of Beaux-Arts architecture. Run by Philip Hiss and H. Hobart Weekes, the firm was known primarily for the hotels and apartment buildings they built in Manhattan. Alfred Bossom
Alfred Charles Bossom, Baron Bossom GCStJ FRIBA (6 October 1881 – 4 September 1965) was an architect in the United States who returned to his native England and became a Conservative Party politician. He also wrote books on architecture. Architectural career Bossom was born in Islington, London, to Alfred Henry Bossom, a stationer, and his wife Amelia Jane, née Hammond. He was educated at St. Thomas's Charterhouse School, in the City, and studied architecture at the Regent Street Polytechnic and the Royal Academy of Arts. In 1904 he left for the United States to work for Carnegie Steel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He worked on the restoration of Fort Ticonderoga from 1908. In 1910, he married Emily, daughter of New York City banker, Samuel Bayne, and they had three sons.
