Remington (album)
'' Remington ''is the major-label debut album from American country music artist Granger Smith. It was released on March 4, 2016 via Wheelhouse Records. Its lead single, "Backroad Song", was released independently to radio on March 24, 2015. It was then re-released to radio on October 5, 2015 after Smith's signing with the label. The album's second single, " If the Boot Fits", was released to country radio on March 14, 2016. Commercial performance The album debuted at No. 3 on the Top Country Albums chart, a career high for Smith, selling 24,000 in its release week. The album has sold 81,200 copies in the US as of May 2017. Granger Smith
Granger Kelly Smith (born September 4, 1979), also known by his alter ego, Earl Dibbles Jr., is an American country music singer-songwriter and radio host. He has released eleven studio albums, one live album, and two EPs. He scored his first number one hit in 2016 with "Backroad Song" and a second top ten hit with " If the Boot Fits" in 2017. Early life Smith was born in Dallas, Texas. At 14, he became interested in music and decided to pursue it as a hobby, teaching himself guitar. After graduating from Lake Highlands High School in 1998, Smith attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. After his sophomore year, he moved from Texas to Nashville after signing a songwriting contract with EMI Music Publishing. Dobro
Dobro is an American brand of resonator guitars, currently owned by Gibson and manufactured by its subsidiary Epiphone. The term "dobro" is also used as a generic term for any wood-bodied, single-cone resonator guitar. The Dobro was originally a guitar manufacturing company founded by the Dopyera brothers with the name "Dobro Manufacturing Company". Their guitar design, with a single outward-facing resonator cone, was introduced to compete with the patented inward-facing tricone and biscuit designs produced by the National String Instrument Corporation. The Canadian Hot 100 is a music industry record chart in Canada for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. The Canadian Hot 100 was launched on the issue dated March 31, 2007, and is currently the standard record chart in Canada; a new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by ''Billboard'' on Tuesdays but post-dated to the following Saturday. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. This tracking period also applies to compiling online streaming data. Bryan Sutton
Bryan Sutton is an American musician. Primarily known as a flatpicking acoustic guitar player, Sutton also plays mandolin, banjo, ukulele, and electric guitar. He also sings and writes songs. Biography Early career Sutton's grandfather and father were regionally recognized fiddlers, and Sutton grew up playing in the family band, the Pisgah Pickers. In 1991, he played guitar for Karen Peck and New River, a gospel group. In 1993, he moved to Nashville. Ricky Skaggs Sutton first came to prominence in 1997 as lead guitarist in Ricky Skaggs' band Kentucky Thunder when Skaggs returned to bluegrass. Sutton eventually left the band to focus on session work. Hot Rize Bryan was asked to join the bluegrass quartet Hot Rize in 2002.
